Syria .. People .. and the maze of authority

Dialogue, openness and meeting national demands is the possibly way out for escalating conflict in order to stop blood shade. Regardless of how severe the government is, people have the ability to withstand extreme brutality. Gaddafi on the other hand, faces his people and the international community, which is heading towards confrontation with him. Syria may not reach to the positions of direct military intervention, but they are surrounded by countries that do not share ideas with, which may turn to be the sources of arms smuggling for the opposition and to adopt lines of hidden confrontations on behalf of international powers. In all the circumstances, the siege of cities, cutting off water and electricity, the attack on the funeral mourners and the fill up of prisons may not necessarily protect the authority and keep law and order among angry protesters. President Bashar al-Assad is a young western educated man and he is aware of the values of freedom and democracy, and recognize that the path of the times is different, and has a vision to measures present and future reality through his experience and culture. Saving his country from going through a sectarian and tribal chaos which will turn to street and urban warfare is his first priority and the guarantee to just demands to turn Syria to a realistic political model which in turn sees the big picture especially since the probabilities do not offer guarantees to any state that does not adhere to a system do not respect people's dignity.
