He said the award is yet another mechanism and means for opening doors of dialogue and knowledge and cultural communication among the Arab Islamic civilization on one hand and different world civilizations on the other within the framework of a firm belief of the Saudi prudent leadership in the importance of dialogue with others, openness to meet them, sharing human values, and closing the doors before pretexts for civilizational struggle or confrontation which was proved false in history. He stated that human civilization is a the product of a common effort of all nations and peoples. The Minister of Culture and Information pointed out that translation was the way that benefited the contemporary western civilization from the Islamic civilization according to testimonies by fair witnesses in both the west and east. He added that stimulating the movement of translation remains a necessity to enlarge the use of the human family from any scientific, intellectual or innovative product of different cultures, confirming that the diversification of the award's domains helps achieving that goal and lays the foundation for a sound knowledge of the cultural and civilizational characteristics of other peoples and countries, itself a condition for a constructive dialogue away from any claims or attempts to impose a specific culture on others. The Minister expressed confidence that the winning works would contribute to enriching the Arab library in the modern sciences fields and opens a new wide window for introducing our Arab Islamic civilization to the world.
