U.S. stocks rose sharply Monday, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 229.29, or 0.8 percent, to 30,211.91.
The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 59.62, or 1.6 percent, to 3,776.86. All 11 sectors posted gains.
The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 332.70, or 2.55 percent, to 13,403.39.
