U.S. stocks were mostly higher to begin the new quarter, with technology leading the Nasdaq index to a new record high. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 77.91, or 0.3 percent, to 25,734.97. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 15.57, or 0.5 percent, to 3,115.86. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 95.86, or 0.95 percent, to 10,154.63.
