Fuddruckers beat Chilis in JBL final

JEDDAH — Fuddruckers of Wessam Abutten beat Chilis Restaurant 82-74 to claim back-to-back Inter-Naghi Division crown at the Bin Mafouz basketball court here recently.
Fuddruckers remained in control throughout the game. Mazen Othman Hawsawi, Restaurant manager, gave his players a big morale boost by turning up in the final quarter. Marlon Melendez and Renz Lim scored 17 points apiece for Fuddruckers and were adjudged the Giordano Players of the Game. Pungay Marxis Masigan top scored with 14 points for Chilis.
The tournament is sponsored by Giordano Fashions (Ahmedullah), ABS-CBN - The Filipino Channel, Saudi Signs (Sam Adora), Al-Haddaf Sportsware (Bayoumi), Wael Sports Wear (Noel) and Arabian Food Supplies Catering Division (Ahmad Miri).
JBL President Mohammad Rasheed Suyat and Jeddah Da'wah Center's Ahmad Peradilla handed over the trophies and Giordano gifts to the winners.
The awardees in the Inter-Naghi Division are Fuddruckers: champion, Chilis Restaurant: 1st runner-up, Mini Cooper: 2nd runner-up, and Hyundai Genesis: 3rd runner-up. The elite mythical five players were: Aaron Macarimban (Hyundai Genesis), Sherwin Cabading (Mini Coopers), Pungay Marxis Masigan (Chilis Restaurant), Marlon Melendez (Fuddruckers) and Renz Lim (Fuddruckers).
Elmer Delos Santos (Fuddruckers) was named the Best Coach, while Marlon Melendez (Fuddruckers) was adjudged the Most Valuable Player.
The awardees in the Inter-Company Division Group A were: Nissan GTR: champion, Al-Muhaidib: 1st runner-up, Mahmoud Gharib: 2nd runner-up, and STC Terabytes: 3rd runner-up. The elite mythical five players of the division are: Sonny Sorreta (STC Terabytes), Jonas Jasper (Mahmoud Gharib), Pablo Viscayno (Al-Muhaidib), Jason Villanueva (Nissan GTR) and Gene Silot (Nissan GTR), while Francis Gallego (Nissan GTR) was named the Best Coach. E.J. Destressa (Nissan GTR) was adjudged the Most Valuable Player.
The awardees in the Inter-Company Division Group B were: Rabya Contractors: champion, Saudi Diyar: 1st runner-up, Viagra Naghi: 2nd runner-up, and Marriott Hotel: 3rd runner-up. The elite mythical five players in the division are: Aris Samson (Marriott Hotel), Rex Ablaza (Viagra Naghi), Jerald Deleon (Saudi Diyar), Garcia (Rabya) and Ramirez (Rabya). Richard Sotto (Rabya) was named the Best Coach. Ramirez (Rabya) was adjudged the Most Valuable Player.
The awards in the Inter-Company Division Group C were picked up by the following: Erfan Hospital: champion, Jeddah Da'wah Center: 1st runner-up, Saudia Catering: 2nd runner-up and MODA: 3rd runner-up. The elite mythical five players are: Reynold Borceque (MODA), Zaide Law Mizal (Saudia Catering), Morhaf Kattan (JDC), Valle (Erfan Hospital) and Hogben Ansel (Erfan Hospital). Arwin Ochavillo (Erfan Hospital) was named the Best Coach. Arwin Ochavillo (Erfan Hospital) was adjudged the Most Valuable Player.
Jeddah Basketball League, meanwhile, would like to invite all non-rated teams to their first project for the year 2013 “The Inter-Company & Inter-Commercial Non-Rated Basketball Tournament.
