U.S. stocks were mixed on Thursday. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 85.51, or 0.3 percent, to 32,726.99. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 3.21, or 0.1 percent, to 4,151.96. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 52.42, or 0.4 percent, to 12,720.58. Oil fell sharply, pressured by concerns that economic weakness in the United States and Europe would reduce demand, but losses were limited by continued tight supply.
