U.S. stocks rose Thursday.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 162.06, or 0.5 percent, to 32,036.90.
The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 39.05, or 1 percent, to 3,998.95.
The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 161.96, or 1.4 percent, to 12,059.61.
Oil fell significantly on higher U.S. gasoline inventories. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures dropped 3.5 percent to $96.35 a barrel.
