BMW and MINI show impressive growth in KSA

Mohamed Yousuf Nagi Motors has reported that the year has got off to a good start for the BMW Group importer in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as it saw a 29 percent increase in sales for BMW and MINI cars during the first three months of 2014 compared to the same period in 2013.
Commenting on the outstanding sales performance, Stavros Paraskevaides, Managing Director of Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors (BMW Group), said: “Saudi Arabia is one of the fastest growing automotive markets in the world and our impressive results are a clear indicator of our commitment to the growth of BMW Group brands in the Kingdom. With results like these, it is our responsibility to ensure that we continue to provide our discerning customers with premium quality products and services which will ensure that we continue to build on this impressive performance throughout the year.”
The BMW 7 Series continued to dominate the luxury sedan segment with double-digit growth of 31 percent. The Saudi Arabian market was the largest consumer of the luxury vehicle in 2013 and the continued growth in Saudi Arabia for the first 3 months of 2014 shows no signs of slowing down.
Building on its position as the global leader in the executive car segment, the BMW 5 Series achieved an increase in sales by 58 percent The latest version of the BMW 5 Series was launched in September of 2013 and the growth of the model is testament to the performance, innovation and premium motoring experience it delivers to the executive saloon segment.
Rounding off the growth for BMW in Saudi was the BMW 3 Series – the leader in the premium compact segment. The BMW 3 Series accounted for a sales increase of 24 percent. The sixth generation BMW 3 Series is the perfect blend of sporty design and the constant evolution of its features, ranging from powerful design elements to advanced drive and chassis technology. The success story of the BMW 3 Series over the past 39 years has made it the world's best-selling premium car.
During the first quarter, MINI also continued to prove popular in the Saudi market accounting for a growth of 39 percent. The MINI Countryman and the MINI Coupé continued to remain among the best-selling MINI models in Saudi Arabia. — SG
