KSA one of top 3 best performing markets for BMW and MINI sales
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 21 - 04 - 2013

JEDDAH – Following an impressive performance in 2012, Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors has retained its position among the top three best performing markets in the Middle East in terms of number of car sales for BMW and MINI in the first quarter of 2013.
Reaffirming the strength of the two brands and continued demand for BMW and MINI cars in Saudi Arabia, the BMW Group importer delivered 883 vehicles to customers across the Kingdom from January to March. This success builds upon the BMW Group's record first quarter performance globally and in the Middle East.
Contributing to Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors' results was the BMW 3 Series with an impressive 406 percent increase over the same January to March period in 2012. Having sold 13 million cars since the first 3 Series was launched in 1975, the BMW 3 Series continues to be BMW Group's and the world's best-selling model series. In 2012, every fourth BMW car sold worldwide was a 3 Series. Bigger, sportier and more dynamic, the sixth generation BMW 3 Series was launched in the Kingdom in February last year and has since become a driving force behind the company's positive sales achievements. It is the first BMW model to be available with three different lines: Modern, Sport and Luxury – three distinctive design personalities for the exterior and interior.
Another top performing model that showed positive double digit sales growth was the BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupé, with a 39 percent increase.
The fastest growing premium brand in the world as well as in the Middle East, MINI continues to be popular amongst audiences in the Kingdom. Sales during the first three months of 2013 were led by the MINI Countryman and the MINI Hatch. Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors is currently gearing up to welcome the seventh member of the MINI family – the MINI Paceman, the world's first Sports Activity Coupé – next month (May). With its active and dynamic elements and smooth design, it is expected to be a popular addition to the importer‘s portfolio.
Stavros Paraskevaide, Managing Director of Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors (BMW Group), said: “We are extremely pleased with our year to date results. We have focused on driving the BMW Group brands forward in the Kingdom and as a result, our models continue to be in high demand. Looking ahead, we will be welcoming a number of beautifully-designed and technologically-advanced new and refined models to our showroom, and as such, are excited about what's to come for the rest of the year.” — SG
