JEDDAH — Duduts Internet Café of Ariel Acedera beat Nimu 60-55 in the JBL-Orient Watch Basketball Tournament at the Bin Mahfouz basketball court here recently.
The winner was boosted by its cheering crowd, while it affected the loser. Reloj scored 33 points for the winner and was adjudged the JBL Best Player. Jenalyn hit 12 points for the loser.
The major sponsor of the event is Orient Watch-Al-Hussaini and Al-Yahya Investment Group (Othman Al-Hussaini). It is also assisted by Giordano Fashions (Ahmedullah), ABS-CBN - The Filipino Channel, Flash Cargo (Arnold Dela Cruz), Saudi Signs (Sam Adora) and Al-Haddaf Sportsware (Bayoumi).
Carrefour of Edilym Dalagan defeated Pinoy Jeddah Group 91-48. The winner played a running game in the whole match. The loser tried its best but missed some easy baskets in the final period. Cian scored 18 points for the winner and was named the Orient Watch Best Player, while Buan top-scored with 14 points for the loser.
ALJ Toyota Quality Service of Jose Jr. Reyes beat MTTS 73-62. The loser managed to dictate the tempo of the game up to the third quarter. The winner applied trapping defense in the fourth quarter and successfully turned the game in its favor. Dorado contributed 16 points for the winner and was adjudged the Giordano Best Player. Castillo led the loser with 24 points.
Saudi Diyar of Jeffrey Esperanza defeated Caltex 65-60. Saudi Diyar displayed steady offense in the whole game as the loser missed important free throws in the dying seconds of the game. De leon topscored with 20 points for the winner and was selected as the Saudi Sign Best Player. Ricky Reloj scored 26 points for the loser.
Meanwhile, JBL is to start another division after Ramadan — the 3rd MYNM Inter-Naghi division. A clinic, conducted at Fuddruckers at Andalus, was attended by team coordinators Dennis Elmenzo (Hyundai Centennial), Elmer Delos Santos & Herman Cara (Fuddruckers), Ronald Reyes (BMW), Dante Caraan (LG), Robert Del Rosario (Chilis), Ronald Malabanan (Hyundai Genesis), Rigor Santos (Al-Naghi), Marcelo Pennaroyo (Jaguar), BOG Referees Jun Lansang, Wagner Laconico, Nap Solis and Elmer Balaguer and Faisal EJ Suyat.
