RIYADH — Barring a major disaster, 20-Vision-20 could be smelling coronation a good three weeks before the end to the Almarai-FBGR Tuesday Night Family Bowling League 17th Conference at the Universal Bowling Center here. 20-Vision-20 still has to deal with the last week of eliminations, semifinals and finals, but prior to that the runaway leader had some small celebration after claiming the first perfect score of 26 points in the tournament on the 17th and penultimate week of eliminations. In winning its eighth Best Team of the Week award 20-Vision-20 swept the total points on offer in the 26-5 victory over sponsor team Almarai on total pinfalls of 4,208 and 3,589. Two-time champion Unica had missed the competition's maximum possible score by a hair, while beating Lion's Den 25-8 on the third week. Not with the all-Saudi team, as it won all four games worth 2 points each to add to the 1 point each per game for scores of 850, 900, 950 and 1,000 with game totals of 1,084, 1,015, 1,045 and 1,064. Elsewhere, Nomercies blasted Talk and Strikes 15-6 on total pinfalls of 3,654-3,479, Unica downed Alsalam Strikers 14-11 (3,768-3,690) while the two bye teams in action, IBG Eagles and Lion's Den, posted total points and total pinfalls of 19-3,766 and 18-3,704 respectively. To underline 20-Vision-20's big night Yasser Mohamed was named the Best Bowler of the Week on 856. To Mohamed's teammate Ahmed Yasser Abulreesh, a previous winner of the individual award, went the high series score of 921. Mohammed Abulreesh added 848, Yasser Ahmed Abulreesh 838 and Sami Al-Repai 745. The Eagles soared on the back of 871 and 803 from Arnold Jesena and Mohd. Alyaba with Irene Aril on 752, Resty de Jesus 611 and Donjie Mapalad 573. Leading Lion's Den was the duo of Clem Salazar 780 and Cef Chua 753. For Nomercies the scorers were Jonathan Avenido 784, Nomer Cenil 766, Abdullah Amoudi 726, Joel Lambo 697 and Jobert Pomado 681. Joelito Santillan came a few pins short of 800 with his effort of 796 at Unica, while Stephen Solomon contributed 787 to go with the 713 by Dennis Durenz and 711 by Edwin Atienza.
