Wala Pa Eh!, Panlaqui shine

Wala Pa Eh! team keglers and Rey Panlaqui excelled to romp away with the Best Team and Best Bowler of the Week awards on the 12th week of the Almarai Saturday League being held at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC). The league is sponsored by Almarai Company and organized by the Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR).
The excellent performances of Sydney Kawi, Sonny Alviso, Ruben Tan and Arnold Salcedo powered Wala Pa Eh! past Nadec Strokers and clinch the Team of the Week award by posting a towering 24 points against Nadec Stroker's 2. Lefty Kawi and Alviso exploded separate series of 879 and 860 to topscore in Wala Pa Eh! while Tan and Salcedo hit separate series of 777 and 773 respectively. Ruben Rialon and Jerry Damiray contributed 349 and 346 series in two outings.
Jove Marano and Reynald Medina topscored in Nadec Strokers by tallying an identical series of 708 in four games. Danny Nabong scored 692 points while Charles Wong Rosauro had 651. Nadec Strokers, having a blind player in their lineup, submitted a total team output of 3,279 pinfalls.
Debuting Rey Panlaqui, Week's Best Bowler awardee, displayed his awesome performance and helped Royal Archer upset back-to-back champion Eraserheads, 22-10. He posted an impressive four-game series handicap of 887 with a game high of 252 in his card. Fareed, FBGR Bowler of the Year '09, Ric Tugonon and hard-hitting Doy Del Moral shared knocked down separate series of 824, 817 and 809 while southpaw Nap Torres added 772 points.
Benito Santos fired 781 points to be at the helm in the Eraserheads and he was followed by Andro Tismo (765), Jojo Gabriel (750), Armin Isles (696) and Arnel Gordovez (621).
The grueling match between Fathi Bowlers and SABB-One HSBC tied their score at 14-all. Fathi Bowlers sealed victory in the first and last game including the overall total team output while SABB-One HSBC controlled the second and third games. Leading scorers in Fathi Bowlers were Abdulladh Amoudi (829) and Gayner Elias (803). Noli Ritual came next by posting 773 points while Emil Rances and Fahad Al-Haza chipped in 752 and 728 points respectively.
At the forefront in SABB-One HSBC were Jojo Paciano (796), Francis Guron (760) and Cas Encila (750). Mike Ecalnir had 649 series in three games on lines of 215, 212 and 222 while Mohammed Yasser shot 563.
Orbit Showtime through the good games of Atoi Ramos, Keng Raymundo and Rey Pompa nipped Talent Management, 14-10. Ramos, Raymundo and Pompa led in Orbit Showtime by submitting separate series of 829, 810 and 805 in three games. Resty de Jesus and team captain Rodel Canda shared separate series of 753 and 668.
Joe Garriod grilled 800 series in four games to topscore in the Talent Management while Jett Cabana and Joe Ligon followed Garrido by collecting 728 and 723. Willie Ortega seared lanes to score 690 points.
Fuji Elevators rolled past Over Hit-2, 14-9 through Fhel Ramos (858), Bobby Jamora (716), Chito Llagas (577), Wilson Bacala (539), Jerry Austria (363), Art Yukong (359) and Edgar Buenaventura (344).
Marvin Arocena and Arnold Quindara toppled 808 and 760 to be on top in Over Hit-2. Gannie Gabriel and Butch Mateo sealed 557 and 532 series in three outings while Hani Al-Nasleh, Noel Ordonez and Victor Edan hammered 323, 319 and 309 points respectively.
Alsalam Air Strikers dismantled Almarai, 13-1 through the heroics of Rollie Cleofe (815), Efren Abuyo (729), Mario Rivera (697)m Bandar Al-Marshad (673) and Rizal Dellosa (580). On top in Almarai was Jun Daniel with 690.
