RIYADH — 20-Vision-20 has left no room for some excitement heading to the final following its comprehensive 23-10 points victory over two-time defending champion Unica in the semifinals of the the Almarai-FBGR Tuesday Night Family Bowling League 17th Conference at the Universal Bowling Center here. The triumph worth another 23 points on total pinfalls of 4,099 left the all-Saudi 20-Vision-20 team with an impregnable lead of 36 points. Thus it's only pride that will be at stake when the two teams meet again for the final, with the 20-Vision-20 to still win by 10 points even if it was zeroed by Unica in their anticlimactic matchup. In the other semifinal matches, IBG Eagles cemented their grip on third place by thrashing Nomercies 19-10 on total pinfalls of 3,880-3,701, Lion's Den brought down Alsalam Strikers 18-8 (3,810-3,670) and Talk and Strikers defeated sponsor team Almarai 15-4 (3,691-3,348). Apparently not taking risk with combinations 20-Vision-20 kept the faith in a five players rotation that was led by Ahmed Yasser Abulreesh who drilled the top score of 890 on lines of 221, 226, 211 and 200. Yasser Mohamed likewise bowled solid for the Saudi team on 831. The three others in the rotation did not disappoint as well — Mohammed Abulreesh and Ahmad Abulreesh matching cards of 793s and Sami Al-Repai hitting 792. Unica simply had no answer to the enemy's offense with only a 758 to show as its leading score courtesy of Stephen Solomon. Reynard Medina added 755, Joelito Santillan 752 and Ernee Noto 747. Mohammed Alyaba led the Eagles on 857 followed by Arnold Jesena 793, Irene Aril 785, Ian Choco 737 and Resty de Jesus 708. Clem Salazar and Rodel Bagohin shot 778 and 767 for Lion's Den to offset the 843 by Joseph Rivera at Alsalam. The other Lion's contributors were Shairene Alvior 762, Noel Morales 757 and Omar Valdez 746. Over at Talk Jun Balubayan fired 777 at the helm of the rotation that also featured 772 by Dong Yamco, 756 by Irene Pua, 720 by Ric Ventura and 666 by Nelson Respicio. Team standings after the semifinals: 1. 20-Vision-20 366, 2. Unica 330, 3. IBG Eagles 304, 4. Nomercies 264, 5. Lion's Den 246, 6. Alsalam Strikers 245, 7. Talk and Strikes 227, 8. Almarai 212.
