Umair ton in vain; IDB chases mammoth total

JEDDAH — Umair of Brasa De Brazil blasted a century but the opponents IDB chased down a huge target of 239 in the SCC Morning T20 Tournament, sponsored by Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC) and organized by WPCA here.
In other matches, MFCC downed Jeddah Tigers, Al-Mazroi Salonpas had the better of Wolves XI, ALJ Toshiba prevailed over Hyderabad Strikers, Emper Perfumes won against Azizya Elegant and ATC humbled EdgeTek.
MFCC thrashed Jeddah Tigers by 150 runs. MFCC, opting to bat first, plundered 219. Farhan hammered 83 in 38 balls with 16 fours. He added 103 for the second wicket with Shafaqat (12). Zeeshan then hit 61 in 22 balls and Zia 14. Abdul Khaliq took 2-42.
Jeddah Tigers, in response, crashed for just 69 as Arsalan took 2 for no runs, Yasin Warraich 2-4 and Sajjad 2-14. Nanaji (15) and Abdulwaheed (18) were the main scorers.
Al-Mazroi Salonpas trounced Wolves XI by 4 wickets. Wolves XI tallied 128-6. Irfan was the top scorer with an unbeaten 59 in 45 balls and Shuja hit unbeaten 17. Sufiyan Laheri was the pick of the bowlers with 4-30.
Al-Mazroi Salonpas, in reply, faced 103 balls and lost 6 wickets to reach 130. Sohail K made 18, Suhail Patel hammered an unbeaten 52 in 28 balls and Faisal Patel 14. Kashan and Adil claimed an identical 2-22.
ALJ Toshiba prevailed over Hyderabad Strikers by 77 runs. ALJ Toshiba piled up 190-6. Basheer made 19 and Bilal 25. Mohammed Azeem was the top scorer with 65 off 30 balls as he added 54 with Amir(7). Zahid remained unbeaten on 48. Jaweed took 2-39.
Hyderabad Strikers, in reply, was bowled out for 113. Afridi stroked 31 and Ali 36 after they lost half the side for 25. Bilal grabbed 3-26, Israr 2-12, Tanveer Zamane 2-13 and Naeem 2-22.
IDB chased a huge target of 239 in 112 balls to win by 6 wickets. Brasa De Brazil plundered 234-2. Asim hit 86 in 45 balls with 14 fours as he first added 56 with Tahir (25) and then a marathon 156 in 82 balls for the second wicket with centurion Umair, who smashed an unbeaten 112 in 53 balls with 4 sixes and 13 fours.
IDB, in chase, achieved 239-4 in 112 balls. It was just a fantastic chase as Rizwan hit 69 in 30 balls with 10 hits to the fence adding 127 in 58 balls for the second wicket with Waseem who hammered 50 in 29 balls with 2 sixes and 3 fours. Later, Adeel remained unbeaten on 70 off 24 balls with 6 sixes and 3 fours. He added a match-winning 57 with Quddus who remained unbeaten on 17.
Emper Perfumes was home against Aziziya Elegant by 96 runs. Emper Perfumes amassed 210-5. Jawad Khan stroked 38, Basharat Hussain 31 and Khadim Hussain 26. Farhan Boby then remained unbeaten on 38 as he added 77 runs with Umair who was not out with 35. Ubaid took 2-36.
Aziziya Elegant in reply was restricted to 114 for 9. Aqil Shetty stroked 19, Abdullah Rizwan 14 and Wajid 23. Basharat took 3 for 11.
ATC humbled EdgeTek by 5 wickets. EdgeTek, batting first, was bundled out for 73. Nouman made 20 and Azeem 27 as other batsmen failed. Usman Jani was the chief destroyer with 4-13, Abdulraheem 3-2 and Shahzad Khan 2-9.
ATC, chasing 74, lost early wickets to be 3 down for 22 but Shahzad Khan (20) and Kashif (unbeaten 24) ensured the victory. Abdulazeez took 2-20.
