U.S. stocks rose solidly Monday.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 143.78, or 0.5 percent, to 28,300.81.
The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 23.41, or 0.7 percent, to 3,248.93.
The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 122.47, or 1.3 percent, to 8,273.40.
