AlHijjah 22, 1433, Nov 7, 2012, SPA - U.S. stocks closed higher Tuesday on the day of the presidential election.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 133.24, or 1.02 percent, to 13,245.68.
The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index gained 11.13, or 0.79 percent, to 1,428.39. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index increased 12.27, or 0.41 percent, to 3,011.93.
