U.S. stocks surged Monday. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 269.93, or 1.05 percent, to 25,898.83.
The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 31.27, or 1.1 percent, to 2,878.38.
The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 101.97, or 1.3 percent, to 7,853.73.
