The Kingdom of Bahrain today strongly condemned the statements made by Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hussain Amir Abdullahyan. In a statement today, the Undersecretary for Regional Affairs and the GCC Hamad Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Amer rapped the irresponsible statements as they contravene the principles of the United Nations, the International Law and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which all advocate utter respect of all countries' sovereignty and independence. "Top Iranian officials speak daily about Bahrain more than they speak about their country's policy and interests or their people's untenable economic and social plight", Mr. Al-Amer said, responding to Abdullahyan's statements to Iranian News Agency (Fars). He slammed top Iranian officials for repeating the same mantra daily, to cover up the dire plight of their people, who have been reeling since long years under the yoke of blatant injustice and a tyrannical rule which strips them of their basic right to decent life. He rapped Iranian officials for being adamant on making threats and warnings round the clock, thus reflecting Tehran's systematic hostile media strategy against the Kingdom of Bahrain. "It is highly deplorable that top Iranian officials continue to make such dangerous threats and pursue their campaign of political, religious and media incitement, thoroughly rejected by the Kingdom of Bahrain. He described the threats and campaign of incitement as reflecting Iranian expansionist designs, which target Bahrain, a full member of the UN, the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Non-Alignment Movement. Al-Amer also described the Iranian statements as a belligerent threat and direct offence to the relations between Iran and the GCC member States. He warned against the dangerous pitfalls of such Iranian belligerent policies on the security and stability of the Arabian Gulf region and the Arab World as well as the global security and stability
