PARIS — French international Theo Hernández has expressed his delight at joining Al Hilal, calling it the start of a new chapter in his career and highlighting the remarkable development of Saudi football in recent years. In his first interview since signing from AC Milan, Hernández said: "Saudi football has developed significantly. There are many quality players here. I believe this is the beginning of a new phase in my career, and I'm very happy to be here." The left-back, who joined the Saudi giants on a three-year deal, also praised Al Hilal's recent performances at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. "I watched the Club World Cup games and the team was fantastic. Al Hilal played at a high level, and I believe they've shown they can compete with top European clubs." Hernández revealed that he spoke with current teammate João Cancelo before making the move, saying: "I reached out to Cancelo to learn more about the club and the city. He told me the team is strong, full of great players, the atmosphere is positive, and the city is beautiful." On his goals with Al Hilal, Hernández said: "I have big ambitions with this team. We have a fantastic group of players, and I came here to win and to help achieve as many titles as possible." He also thanked Al Hilal fans for the warm welcome he received upon joining.
