WPCA gears up for MoneyGram finals

JEDDAH — My Care Hala remained unbeaten as it set up Premier final against Crown Steel, Nestle Milo tests MBCC in the Afternoon final and Stallions face New Young Stars in the Morning final in the WPCA cricket tournament sponsored by MoneyGram under the auspices of Saudi Cricket Centre here.
In the 35-over Premier semis, My Care Hala (MCH) thrashed AOT by 118 runs. Opting to bat first, MCH posted 309-4. Kashif Shafeeq was in awesome touch as he smashed an unbeaten 181 off 118 balls studded with 17 fours and 6 sixes. He stitched 113 with Babar Hussain (57) for the 3rd wicket and then 114 with Mohammed Amjed (22) for the 4th wicket. Zeeshan claimed 2-44. AOT, in reply, could only get to 191. Naeem Shah scored 54, Ilyas 39 and Imran Yusuf 27. Adnan took 3-33, Faheem Afrad 3-31 and Khurram Haneef 2-47.
In the other semi, Crown Steel defeated Hala Friends by 102 runs. Crown scored 300 as Shafeeq contributed 26, Khurram Karamat 36, Nadeem Amin 62, Waqas Ausaf 68 and Abuhuraira 58. Nasir took 5-42 and Wajahat Shah 2-84. Hala Friends was restricted to 198. Nasir batted made 54, Abdullah Essa 34, Niaz Ahmed 25 and Sammer 29. Abduhuraira grabbed 4-40.
In the T20 Afternoon semis, Nestle Milo thrashed My Care Hala Green by 52 runs. Nestle Milo racked up 242-7 as Bilal Malik stroked 27, Imran Sarwar 50, Azeem 69 in 28 balls and Fahad 22. Yasir, Fahad and Basheer claimed 2 wickets each for 54, 53 and 41 runs, respectively. My Care Hala Green could score only 190-6 as Asghar scored 53, Amir 30 and Yasir Mohammed 47. Ahsan took 3-27, Aijaz Butt 2-44.
In the other Afternoon semi, MBCC humbled Hyundai by 13 runs. MBCC produced 155-4 as Azhar smashed an unbeaten 95, Rashid 30 and Fareed 17. Ayaz claimed 2-29. Hyundai, in chase, dominated for most part but panicked and was restricted to 142-9. Wajid scored 22, Aiyaz 25 and Yusuf 20. Nasir Kashmiri grabbed 4-25, Tariq 2-33 and Azhar 2-43.
In the T20 Morning semis, Stallions beat Al-Mazroi-XI by 25 runs. Stallions mustered 149 through Hassan Ali (33), Waqas (19), and Fawad (20 not out). Badaruddin scalped 2-21. Al-Mazroi was left stranded at 124-9. Sohail contributed 17, Farhan 27 and Faruk 20. Jawwad took 3-11 and Abdulrafay 2-17.
In the other semi, New Young Stars had the last laugh against Brasa De Brazil by 41 runs. New Young Stars piled up 172-8 as Rafaqat hammered 52, Asif 31, Amir 40 and Nazeer 24. Faiz took 2-27. Brasa De Brazil, in reply, lost wickets at regular intervals with half the side back in the pavilion for 75. Waseem with 47 and Bilal 19 were the only scorers of substance. Rafaqat had 3-40, Yasir 2-27, Maqsood 2-24.
