My Care Hala halts Zultec run

JEDDAH: My Care Hala halted Zultec's unbeaten run with a two-wicket win in 40-over Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) Premier League action here last week.
In the other Premier League match IDB comprehensively beat Dopco, while Zultrack, Safa Al-Bawadi, Nestle Milo and Jotun Paints won their respective encounters in the Afternoon Tournament.
Mercedes Benz, Al-Mazroi and Usman Gems Tigers came out winners in the Morning Tournament.
The top match saw Zultec take the strike first and saw only Abdullah Essa bat with confidence to score his third straight century (126 off 116 balls). Other batsmen succumbed to the spin of Mohsin Mirza who scalped 5-38 to reduce Zultec to 251 all out. Anis Malik made 35 as Faheem Afrad took 3-24 for Hala.
My Care Hala kept losing wickets at regular intervals but solid innings by Khurram (53), Azeem (69) and Waqas (unbeaten on 36) took them home 254-8. Khalid took 3-66 and Usman 2-60 for Zultac.
The other Premier League match saw IDB thrash Dopco by seven wickets.
Batting first Dopco was bundled out for 218 as Nadeem scored 47, Usman 42 and Hasan 35. Nadeem took 3-28 for IDB.
IDB in reply raced to 220-3 in just 24 overs to win comprehensively. Riyaz Khan remained not out on 103 as Yassir hit 69.
In the Afternoon action Nestle Milo beat United Cricket Club (UCC) by 49 runs. Batting first Nestle racked up 231-4 in 20 overs as Hassan hit 100 and Faiz made 28. UCC in reply was restricted to 182-8 as veteran Zahid Qureshi grabbed 4-23 and Awaiz took 3-26. Irfan made 55 and Shahnawaz 30 for UCC.
Jotun Paints thrashed Pakistan-XI by nine wickets when Shafeeq made 73 to get to the required 117 for 1. Earlier Pakistan-XI was restricted to 114-7 with Imran Yusuf making 41.
Safa Al-Bawadi, meanwhile, beat Elaf Engineering by four wickets. Elaf batting first piled up 170-6 with Siddiq making 55, Usman 43 and Ali 31. Yaseen took 3-42 and Asghar 2-31. Safa Al-Bawadi was home for the loss of six wickets as Tahir and Iqbal both hit 35 and Sohail made 38. Qamar grabbed 3-27 for Elaf.
In another match Zultrack beat AOT My Style by 53 runs. Zultrack taking the strike made 181-9 as Khadim hit 71, Emmad 42 and Imran 41. Naveed scalped 3-35 for AOT. In response AOT was bundled out for 128 as Imtiyaz grabbed 3-26, Emmad 3-36, Imran 2-5 and Sobail 2-23.
In the Morning Tournament Mercedes Benz beat Universal Coil by five wickets. Batting first Universal made 178-8 with Layeq making 44 and Khadem 32. Osama bagged 3-31, Zulfikhar 2-26 and Ilyas 2-43. Mercedes responded with Ilyas making 51 and Asif 59 to reach the target of 180-5 as Asghar scalped 2-18 and Layeq 2-20.
Al-Mazroi-XI batting against My Care Green made 144-5 as Farooq hit 77. My Care Green in response were stranded at 123-7 as Abdullah grabbed 2-8, Sufian 2-14 and Khalil 2-21 to complete the rout as Salamat made 32.
Usman Gems Tigers beat Otex by 20 runs. Batting first Tigers made 162-5 with Zahid remaining unbeaten on 55 as Amjad and Asif took 2-23 each. Otex was restricted to 142-8 as Amjad made 30. Farid Afridi took 3-32 and Ahmed 2
