JEDDAH — Al-Saudi-XI, Dopco Stars and AOT won their fifth-week outings in MoneyGram WPCA Premier Tournament, which is being held under the auspices of Saudi Cricket Centre.
AOT defeated IDB by 40 runs. AOT scored 181 for 9. Faiq Habeeb hit 43, Hasham 35 and Aqeel 23. Hashim Khan took 3-25, Farooq 3-47 and Sarfaraz 2-42. The Islamic Development Bank responded with 141 for 9 as Khalid Butt scored 43 and Waseem 21. Zeeshan took 3-23, Faisal Iqbal 3-32 and Nasir Iqbal 2-18.
Al-Saudi-XI downed Hala Friends by 5 wickets. Hala Friends put on 209 for 5. Anees Malik hammered 95 (15 fours and a six), while Abdullah Essa hit 60 as the two added 154. Mazher Abbasi claimed 2-26 and Zeeshan Amin 2-36. Al-Saudi-XI's cause was helped by a match-winning unbeaten innings of 78 by Javed Iqbal. He first added 98 runs with Imran Azam (50) and then 51 with Nazeer Farooqui (25) as the team reached 212 with 3 balls to spare. Uzair took 2-40.
In another match, Dopco Stars thrashed Al-Ghamdi Cricket Stars by 88 runs. Dopco Stars made 197-8 with skipper Shahbaz Rasheed hitting 39 and Asim 25. Nadeem Shah scalped 4-37 and Mustafa 3-44. Al-Ghamdi, in reply, was bundled out for 109. Khurram Haneef claimed 3-21, Shoaib Ali 3-13 and Asim 2-20.
Afternoon MoneyGram
Six matches were played in Afternoon MoneyGram Tournament with Marine Services, Jotun Paints, Nestle Milo, Elaf Advance, APF and Hala School scoring wins.
Jotun Paints thrashed AOT Youngsters by 9 wickets. AOT Youngsters posted 174 for 3 through Rafique (70), Malik (31) and Salman (30). Jotun Paints achieved 175 for the loss of one wicket. Skipper Shafeeq blasted 123 off 40 balls and Mazher hit 27. Marine Services beat Thales Group by 13 runs. Batting first, Marine Services scored 145-3. Majed hit 53 and Amir Sardar 34. Thales Group replied with 132 as Taqiurrehman hit 38. Naseer bagged 3-20, Majed 3-21 and Imran 2 wickets.
Zultrack went down to Elaf Advance by 4 wickets. Zultrack made 141-7 as Qaiyam Khan hit 59 and Bilal Iqbal 29. Ashraf took 3-33, while Yasir and Adnan claimed 2 each. Elaf reached 142 for 6. Omer hit 31 and Hasnain 26. Rashid and Qaiyam Khan bagged 2 wickets each.
Nestle Milo beat Arab Lankans by 5 wickets. Lankans made 171 for 4 through Mushtaq (46) and Siraj (47). Nestle Milo reached 174-5 as Imran Sarwar hammered 70, Abdullah Zahid 34 and Sher Bahadur 32. Waseem took 3-46 and Siraj 2.
APF humbled Lothers by 14 runs. APF racked up 201-5 as Murtuza hit 81 and Habeeb 53. Lothers, in reply, could score only 187-5 as Badushah and Yasir hit 40 each and Jameel 32. Murtuza and Habeeb claimed two wickets each. Hala School downed Hala Academy Blue by 49 runs. Hala School put on 183-6 as Anas Malik hammered 79 and Hamed 41. Ramazan took 3 and Abdulrafey 2 wickets. Hala Academy Blue, in reply, was restricted to 134 as Abdulaleem hit 61. Hamed grabbed 4-23 and Saud 2 wickets.
