MAKKAH — Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Alfadley announced on Wednesday the complete readiness and high level of coordination among all sectors within the ministry in preparation for the Hajj season of 2025. The ministry's ongoing efforts aimed to ensure environmentally safe Hajj with provision of the best environmental, water, agricultural, and health services to Hajj pilgrims, in line with Saudi Vision 2030. Alfadley made these remarks during his inspection tour of the holy sites and chairing a meeting at the headquarters of the National Water Company. He reviewed the completion of the operational plans in accordance with the highest efficiency standards. As part of the comprehensive national efforts to make the Hajj season a success, the operational system includes quality projects and programs to ensure the availability of water supplies, food safety, air quality, waste handling, environmental compliance monitoring, and pest control. The minister checked the preparations of the ministry's branches in Makkah and Madinah to supervise and control private slaughterhouses and public benefit markets. He reviewed efforts of emergency rooms and the situation of logistical services provided by professionals at the two branches. Alfadley listened to details of the environmental system's plans to enhance food security during the Hajj season. The General Food Security Authority (GFSA) confirmed the abundance of flour stocks in Makkah and Madinah, in addition to the existence of reserve stocks of wheat throughout the Kingdom, amounting to more than one million tons. Water supply for pilgrims was high on the agenda during the meeting. The minister inspected the readiness of projects and operational plans for water services for all sectors, including production, transportation, storage, distribution, and irrigation. Such integrated efforts aim at securing water supply for pilgrims and improving the quality of services provided to them. Alfadley emphasized intensifying efforts and harnessing all resources to implement the directives of the Kingdom's leadership to provide the best services to the pilgrims so as to enable them to perform Hajj rituals in ease and comfort.
