Proceeds from single day falcon auction reach SR366000
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 12 - 10 - 2020

RIYADH — The sales of deals at the ongoing falcon auction have reached SR366000 on Friday evening. The Saudi Falcons Club (SFC) has organized the falcon auction, the first of its kind in the Kingdom, at the King Abdulaziz Festival grounds in Mulham, north of Riyadh.
The 43-day auction, which began on Oct. 3, runs through until Nov. 15. Lovers of falconry from various regions of the Kingdom are taking part in the auction, for which SFC has arranged a dedicated hall, built on an area of 2,000 square meters at King Abdulaziz Festival grounds.
There has been intense competition among falconers at the auction for falcons in the category of young Shaheen. Dhaif Allah Al-Harthy, a falconer from Jubail in the Eastern Province, has won the first auction card deal for the falcon of Falah Sahman Al-Subaie for an amount of SR110,000.
Ahmed Al-Mutairi acquired the second falcon deal offered by Belqassim Al-Maqadi and his partners from Qunfudhah governorate in the western region for an amount of SR125,000. Then came the third falcon deal offered by Mansour Al-Anzi, and it was also acquired by Dhaif Allah Al-Harthy for an amount of SR75,000.
It is noteworthy that the highest value on the first day of the auction was SR106,000 for Shaheen of Prince Abdullah Bin Sultan Bin Abdullah. The second day fetched the highest price so far in the auction for the Shaheen of Suleiman Hamdan Al-Mahmadi. Muhammad Al-Balawi bought it for an amount of SR155,000.
The Saudi Falcons Club organized the auction with the objective of boosting investment in the field of falcons and promoting the hobby of falconry and supporting those interested in it.
The falcon auction achieved remarkable results in terms of transaction prices, as its sales ceiling in the three operational days exceeded SR900,000, with an expected increase over the coming auction days.
The auction is being held strictly in compliance with all precautionary measures and preventive protocols to stem the spread of coronavirus, and to ensure the safety of the auction organizers, participants and visitors.
The SFC has set the evening period for the first auction of its kind, from eight in the evening. It called on falconers and those interested in falcons to follow the club's official accounts on social media platforms to know the dates and conditions that must be met to participate in the auction.
The SFC auction comes within the framework of supporting those interested in falcons, by providing an official platform to sell falcons on a regular basis by officially certifying the falcon, and granting its owner an export certificate for travel if he so desires.
