A large number of Gulbarga residents turned up at iftar party hosted by Gulbarga Charitable and Welfare Trust (GCWT) Jeddah Chapter at the Village restaurant. It was attended by Gulbargavis from Jeddah, Makkah and Rabigh. President of the chapter Syed Nasir Khursheed explained the trust's functionng and highlighted the performance of the trust since its inception and the charitable activities performed. He thanked all the members for their generous contribution to the trust. He congratulated and thanked Meraj Ahmed and Aslam Sayeed for leading the Eastern Province chapter and Rabigh chapter respectively. He also appreciated the efforts of Mirza Azam Baig, Layeeq Farooqui and the team working at Gulbarga. He also expressed happiness towards Gulbarga resident Tanveer Shaikh's success in getting 25th rank in Indian UPSC exams. Saleem Khalifa, vice president of the trust, emphasized importance of education for the development of the society. He said the trust has plans to adopt micro-finance formula which was created and adopted by Mohammed Yonus in Bangladesh. He appreciated the efforts of General Secretary Sajid Shaikh, who has prepared action plan for the micro-finance scheme to be implemented in Gulbarga. Outgoing president of the GCWT Rabigh chapter Ilyas Noori praised the efforts of Jeddah Chapter, and said the Rabigh wing had gained great experience being part of all the initiatives taken by Jeddah chapter for the welfare of poor and needy people. Sayeed said it is great experience to work under the guidelines of Jeddah Chapter President Khursheed and his team. Tahir Ali, coordinator for Rabigh chapter and Management committee member of IISJ, spoke on importance of charity and holy month Ramadan. He said it is great opportunity for all of us to help poor and needy people through this trust. Dr. Ajazul Haque, cardiologist and medical advisor of the trust, highlighted the aims and objectives of the trust, and said, the trust, started in Jeddah, is spreading its wings to other cities of the Kingdom. Memento was presented to Mohammed Ilyas Noori for serving Rabigh. Sajid Sheikh appealed to Gulbargavis to come forward and strengthen the trust to help the underprivileged more effectively. The program started with recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an by Hassan Sharfi, while welcome speech was delivered by Trust Treasurer Abdul Wahid. Trust Joint Secretary Zaki Tameemul Hassan was master of ceremony. Vote of thanks was delivered by Joint Treasurer Nisar Ahmed Nawade.
