Gulbargavis start new chapter in Eastern Province

DHAHRAN — Indian Expats from Gulbarga residing in Dammam Alkhobar, Jubail and Al Khafji started new chapter of its charitable trust at Alkhobar recently and 115 members attended the event. The aim of the new chapter is to serve poor and needy people back home in Gulbarga.
Syed Nasir Khursheed, president Gulbarga Charitable and Welfare Trust, Jeddah Chapter, attended the inaugural function as chief guest while President of Eastern Province Chapter Mohammed Meraj Ahmed presided over the function.
Speaking at the event Khursheed said 10 years before the Gulbarga Charitable and Welfare Trust was started in Jeddah by a group of Gulbargavis under the leadership of Mirza Azam Baig, who is currently President of the registered trust in Gulbarga. It was established to help poor and needy people back home in Gulbarga, irrespective of caste, creed and religion, based on humanity. He elaborated on some case history, which proved touching moments for all members.
He highlighted that soon GCWT would support qualified students to prepare for IAS, IPS exams. He congratulated the president and all executive committee members for taking initiative to establish a new chapter in Eastern Province.
Syed Nasir Khursheed said the Indian diplomatic mission, both the embassy and consulate, are striving to provide the most effective and prompt services to the community during this amnesty period. He said as community members with a social conscience we should help our people to correct their status and overstayers should be sent back home during the amnesty period.
Ahmed, in his speech, requested all members to join the team and explained the importance of offering a hand to help the poor and needy people. He also explained that charity shall be done without any show in the belief that the return would only be reward from
Ahmed also assured that the GCWT Eastern Province will apply all efforts to form a coaching center in Gulbarga where IAS, IPS students would be assisted in preparation to appear for these examination.
The GCWT introduction was given by General Secretary Abdul Muqtadir Adil, who stated GCWT was a non-political, non-profitable organization and highlighted its core objectives was to help the poor and needy people in education, medical assistance, self-employment, and marriages of girls. He also briefed that tailoring centers are run to empower women.
Executive member Mohammed Tajuddin highlighted the importance of charity and our role in society to help others. He requested all Gulbargavis to come forward and help the trust to work more effectively.
Mohammed Abdul Khadeer said, "I feel great in meeting all Gulbargavis of Eastern Province on one platform."
Mohammed Muddasar Nawaz said it is great opportunity for all of us to help poor and needy people collectively and Syed Mohsin Ali and Abdul Jabbar, who were handling the registration desk, explained to members about the objectives of the trust. Mohammed Zakir Hussain, Mohammed Imad, Imran Bhandari, Parvez and Abdul Mateen welcomed the guests while event management and facilities arrangements was done by Mohammed Sohel.
Event was well anchored by Treasurer Siraj Ahmed, who accorded a warm welcome to all members. The program started with recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an and translation by Hashmat Khan highlighting importance of charity in Islam and also quoted the hadith to have clear understanding of charity in Islam.
Joint Secretary Syed Sadiq Hussain proposed the vote of thanks. He expressed deep sense of appreciation for executive committee members and all the members coming from Alkhobar Dammam, Al Khafji and Jubail, and extended his thanks to all volunteers who made this event successful.
