U.S. stocks fell on Thursday. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 458.13, or 1.5 percent, to 9,225.61. The broader S&P 500 index fell 78.56, or 2.1 percent, to 3,640.48. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index fell 314.13, or 2.8 percent, to 10,737.51. Oil fell and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures dropped 1.1 percent to $81.23 a barrel.
