U.S. stocks rose modestly Thursday, The Dow Jones industrial average rose 46.85, or 0.2 percent, to 27,739.73, ending a three-session losing streak.
The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 10.66, or 0.3 percent, to 3,385.51.
The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 118.49, or 1.1 percent, to 11,264.95.
