U.S. stocks rebounded Tuesday following the market's biggest sell-off in more than three months, with the Dow industrials ending a five-session losing streak. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 187.05, or 0.7 percent, to 28,722.85. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 32.61, or 1 percent, to 3,276.24. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 130.37, or 1.4 percent, to 9,269.68.
