U.S. stocks rose broadly Tuesday. The Dow industrials ended the second quarter with a 17.8 percent gain, the most since early 1987 when it jumped 21.6 percent. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 surged 20 percent, the most since late 1998. The technology-heavy Nasdaq jumped 30.6 percent, its best performance since 1999. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 217.08, or 0.85 percent, to 25,812.88. The S&P 500 index rose 47.05, or 1.5 percent, to 3,100.29. The Nasdaq composite index rose 184.61, or 1.9 percent, to 10,058.76.
