Thrilling matches in SCC T20 tourney

JEDDAH — Crown Steel, Friends-XI and IDB recorded thrilling wins in the SCC Premier T20, while the Afternoon event witnessed six matches. Both the tournaments are sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center (SCC) and organized by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA).
IDB downed Jeddah Youth. Islamic Development Bank Group (IDBG) started on a disastrous note with 3 down for 16. However it managed to get 141. Irfan Shah rescued the team with 54 in 28 balls as he added 73 with Junaid Hashim (21). Mohammed Farook remained unbeaten on 42. Osama Amjed was the pick of the bowlers with 3-14. In reply, Jeddah Youth lost wickets at regular intervals to be stranded at 76-8 in 15 overs when the match was called off due to inclement weather. Abdullah Shah took 3-14 and Gulam Mustafa 3-6.
Hyderabad Strikers went down to Friends-XI. Friends-XI piled up 203-6. Hassan Malik hammered 71 in 32 balls. He added 119 with Abdullah Essa (30). Anis Malik remained unbeaten on 22. Teenager Uzair claimed 4-29. Hyderabad Strikers responded well as openers Amer Sajjad hit 55 in 25 balls and Irfan Ayazuddin 37. But once the openers departed, the team was stranded at 148-6 in 15.1 overs. Waseem hit 20. Samer scalped 2-8, Hamdan 2-26 and Umair 2-18.
Put into bat, Crown Steel racked up 240-4 as skipper Shafeeq stroked 22 and Anwaar Chandi 57 in 31 balls. Javeed Iqbal made 42 as he stitched together 96 for the third wicket with Waqas Ausaf (92 in 36 balls with 6 sixes and 7 fours). Adeel took 2-57.
Al-Saudi-XI, in reply, was all out for 153. Sajid scored 51 in 31 balls, Mazhar Abbasi 25 and Humayun 24. Ghulam Riyaz took 3-34 and Aijaz Sagheer 2-47.
SCC Afternoon T20
Waqas Malik-XI defeated Thales Group. Waqas Malik-XI racked up 197-7 as Waqas hammered 66 in 36 balls, Zahoor 24, Tauseef 21 and Danish 20. Irfan and Amjad Iqbal claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Thales Group was stranded at 125-6 in 105 balls when the match was stopped due to inclement weather. Abdulwahab scored 46 and Imran remained unbeaten on 44. Waqas Malik took 3-21 and Junaid 2 wickets.
Lothers had the better of Zultrack. Lothers piled up 160-7. Omar Shafeeq stroked 40. He added 57 with Mushtaq (29) after being 30 for 2. Shibu scored 50 in 22 balls. Qaim Khan claimed 3-21, while Amjad and Zubair got 2 each. Zultrack, in reply, could only manage 118-7 in 105 balls when the match was stopped. Qaim Ali Khan scored 22, Khadim 21 and Mohsin 21. Suraj claimed 3-20 and Fazil 2-32.
OMD Tuskers won against Al-Safri-XI by 39 runs. OMD Tuskers tallied 182-6 through Yashik Alangad (50 in 47 balls) and Shamshuddin (77 in 48 balls with 4 sixes and 8 fours). They added 125 for the second wicket. Imran took 2-34 and Waseeq Sherwani 2-43. Al-Safri-XI responded with 143 all out. Muneeb Anwer scored 40, Manjeet Kumar 29 and Waseem Imran 23. Babu took 4-24, Shamshuddin 3-26 and Shafeeq 2-28.
Nestle Milo trounced Digital Tech AOT by 6 wickets. Digital Technology AOT posted 142-6 through Pervez Baig who remained unbeaten on 57 in 28 balls, Rehan 31 and Moiz 21. Ahsan took 2-32 and Azeem 2-37.
Nestle Milo reached 143-4 in 84 balls. Ijaz Butt scored 25, Ali Nawaz 43, Imran Sarwar 27 and Ahsan 31. Usman took 3 for 47.
Marine Services had the last laugh against Awesome-XI by 28 runs. Marine Services produced 163-8 through Akram (48), Naseer (32) and Ali Dost (35). Khizar took 3-30. Awesome-XI replied with 135-6. Khalil scored 48 and Asad 26. Fawad took 2-10 and Balu 2-20.
APF thrashed Jotun Paints by 7 wickets. Jotun Paints recorded 162-8. Shabbir blasted 89 in 56 balls with 2 sixes and 9 fours. Ahsan took 3-12 and Basit 2-24.
APF, in reply, achieved 167 for 3 in 103 balls. Mohammed Siddique scored 33. Ehtesham remained unbeaten on 42 to stitch together 101 in 56 balls with Abdulbasit who also remained unbeaten on 50 in 25 balls.
