Shahnawaz and Ben hit tons in Afternoon Cup

JEDDAH — Shahnawaz Khan of UCC and Ben of Nesma hit centuries, while Hasnain of APF and Ghulam Mustafa of IDB excelled as all-rounders in the third week hostilities in the SCC T20 Cups. The 3 divisions of SCC tournaments are being sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center (SCC) and managed by WPCA.

IDB had the last laugh against MCC by 59 runs in the Premier Division. In the Afternoon, AMI Juffali defeated Contraco, Fuchs Alhamrani crushed Thales Group, Neshma Holding had the last laugh against DT AOT, APF won against Marine Services and UCC got the better of Jotun Paints.

SCC Premier T20
IDB thrashed MCC by 59 runs. IDB piled up 190 for 7. Khalid Butt made 41, Mustafa topscored with 52 in 45 balls and Arif Bazeer hit 29. Mustafa took 2-38 while one wicket each went to Mehfooz, Bilal, Shahid and Saleem. MCC was bowled out for 131 to lose by 59 runs with only meaningful contribution coming from Azam (21). Two wickets each were claimed by Sufiyan 2-33, Zahid 2-23, Yasir 2-10, Zeeshan 2-13 and Mustafa 2-19. Junaid Hashim claimed 6 victims behind the stumps.

Afternoon Cup
AMI Juffali defeated Contraco by 7 wickets. Contraco opting to bat first was bundled out for 95. Amjad stroked 22. The wicket-takers were Shaboor (2-12), Najam Uzbak (2-13) and Usman (2-21). AMI Juffali, in reply, reached 96 for 3 in 56 balls as Imad hit 27 and Shaboor remained unbeaten on 17. Yaseen took 2-20.

Fuchs Alhamrani crushed Thales Group by 128 runs. Fuchs Alhamrani, opting to bat first, racked up 259 for 7, thanks to Mohsin who topscored with 77 in 37 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes. He added 88 with Khuban who made 42 after Fuchs was reduced to 24 for 3. Sakhawat hit 32, Mansoor remained unbeaten on 30 and Saqib made 37 not out. Talaal grabbed 2-38 and Amjad 2-50.

Thales Group, in reply, mustered up 131 for 7 with only Abdul Wahab making 62 in 31 balls and Shiraz 26. Irfan got 3-9, Dawar 3-26 and Mansoor 2-11.
Nesma Holding had the last laugh against Digital Technology-AOT by 49 runs. Nesma Holding plundered 202 for 8, thanks to Ben who hammered an unbeaten 112 in 58 balls with 17 fours and 2 sixes. He added 86 in 32 balls with Rana (33). Salman scalped 3-32 and Usman 2-23.

Digital Technology-AOT, in response, could manage only 153 for 7. Salman hit 34, Pervaiz 35 and Moeez 21. Zafar took 2-17 and Asad 2-40.

APF defeated Marine Services by 34 runs. APF produced 169 for 5 through Ali Ansar (41), Abdul Basit (43), Hasnain (unbeaten 41) and Gulzar (19). Ahmed took 2-19. Marine Services was stranded at 135 for 7. Ahmed topscored with 51 in 33 balls, while Majid contributed 25 and the duo added 78 runs.
Hasnain Ali was the pick of the bowlers with 4-29 and Siddiq claimed 3-24.

UCC won against Jotun Paints by 63 runs. UCC, opting to bat first, racked up 210 for 6 through prolific Shahnawaz Khan who smashed 129 in 57 balls with 3 sixes and 19 fours. He stitched together 120 runs in 66 balls for the fourth wicket with Ahmed Faraz (27) after the team was struggling at 32 for 3. Imran took 2-41.

Jotun Paints, in chase, could manage only 147 for 7. Shabbir scored 26, Mazhar 21 and Ejaz remained unbeaten on 32. Qasim grabbed 3-34 and Shahnawaz 2-16.
