JEDDAH — Ekis-7, having been relegated to No. 5, bounced back with three straight Team-of-the-Week awards from session 16-18 of the FEDBG Friday Morning Bowling League at the Bowling City here.

Ekis started their movement by edging Extreme 1:11 in a match primarily columned by team captain Ernei Geslani, Alama Bacero and Malou Gime who combined for 1,893 on respective shares of 663, 616 and 614. Extreme's Romy Bunagan, Jimmy Urbano and team chief Dariel Loquias tried to block but got 1,881 only.

Extreme hope more from other half of the team but the 1,666 from Archie Santos, Lani Zamora and Andy Yumena was also humbled by Zaldy Bacero, Rey Beltran and Jimmy Mandingiado at 1,682 which made Ekis the winner at 13-7 on aggregates of 3,575-3,547 that moved them a notch up.

Bowlers of the week this session were Peter Colcol and Aileen Miralbuna for scores of 703 and 639 for Fine Boys and Rock N Roll teams, respectively. Colcol was reputed from his games of 253, 232 and 218, while Miralbuna seared the lanes with sets of 211, 222 and 205.

Gearing for a solid follow up, Ekis preferred the same lineup against league-leader Lance & 3rdy the following week. With the latter missing the services of skipper Ric Reformado, Ekis controlled the match resulting in a lopsided battle signed at 20-0 (3,576-3,386). Rey Beltran topped Ekis' board with 674, followed by Gime who planked best 630 from her Lady Bowler of the Week-winning scores of 198, 229 and 205. Geslani, Zaldy Bacero, Mandingiado and Alma Bacero shared the rest of their successful stint at 2,272. Pinky Acato (590) and team manager Evelyn Santoc (588) led Lance & 3rdy's defense but to no avail when Ding dela Rosa, Med Ramos, Edris Mangoda and Igna Salgado hardly met their averages. Jimmy Urbano claimed the male Bowler of the Week honor with 698 points, helping lead Extreme over Shawly Bowlers with his games of 235, 223 and 240.

Ekis unleashed another deadly thrust against Shawly Bowlers for another 20-0 result from 3,727-3,537. Ekis production was evenly shared by Bacero (664), Gime (651), Madingiado (621), Beltran (604), Geslani (599) and Natty Caringal (588). Fully Tabio and Edison Arena walled Shawly with 620 and 615.

Hal Falcons shared the spotlight in the 18th week when they caught Extreme 1:11 for an 18-2 result that slid the latter from third to fourth place.
Hal Falcons had to thank Mhon Laxamana for 598, Nap Patayan 581, team captain Thong Langa 578, TM Rene Ocampo 532, Shirley Sagmit 577 and Susan Patayan 581. Loquias defended Etreme with 617. Jun Estefano and May Lourdes were the Bowlers of the Week.

Estefano gained honor by scoring 709 from games of 225, 235 and 249. Lourdes bested the ladies with her 661 from sets of 259, 213 and 189.
Team standings: Lance & 3rdy – 565.5, Micah's Pride – 539, Ekis – 514, Extreme 1:11 – 484, Cool Guys – 468, BCT Mongoose – 464, Rock N Roll – 394, Shawly Bowlers – 366, D' Lufs Strikers – 356, Hal Falcons – 329.5, Al Murjanah – 267, Fine Boys – 221.
