Pepsi Deccan Knights win; Yasir blasts a ton

JEDDAH — Pepsi Deccan Knights won against Al-Ghamdi in the Modern Pioneer Premier Tournament and Yasir's ton helped My Care Hala Green beat Fuchs Alhamrani.
Al-Safri, AOT Youngsters, Zultrack and Crown Blue won their respective matches in the Afternoon Cup, organized by WPCA and sponsored by Modern Pioneer Company.
Premier Cup
Crown Steel downed IDB by 25 runs. Crown Steel plundered 211 for 5. Shoaib Ali contributed 22 and Sajid blasted 60 in 34 balls. Skipper Shafeeq Ahmed hit 52 in 23 balls, Imran Azam 22 and Javed Iqbal 33 not out. Hashim Khan took 2-44, Zahid Anwar 2-47 and Mustafa one.
In reply, IDB lost early wickets but Mustafa made 17 and Junaid 30. Irfan Shah then scored 50 in 27 balls to keep the team's hopes alive. But it was bowled out for 184. Shoaib Ali was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 31, Rizwan took 2-34, Murtuza 2-38 and Gulam Riyaz one.
Pepsi Deccan Knights defeated Al-Ghamdi Cricket Stars by 8 wickets. Al-Ghamdi posted 153 for 5 as Aquil Mohammed hit an unbeaten 79 in 63 balls and added 53 with Ali (27). Earlier, Nadeem Shah scored 19. Athar took 2-26, while Ishaq and Akbar got one each.
Pepsi Deccan Knights, in reply, batted with confidence to reach 154 for 2 in just 78 balls. Najeeb smashed 54 in 36 balls and Mazhar 52 in 26 balls. The duo added 117 in 55 balls for the first wicket. Later, Afroz compiled an unbeaten 21. Ali and Omer were the wicket-takers.
Afternoon Cup
AOT Youngsters thrashed Thales Group by 10 wickets. Thales Group was bundled out for 79. Usman grabbed 4 for 26, Waseem 3-13 and Saqlain 2. AOT Youngsters stormed to 81 without losing a wicket in just 39 balls. Malik Hasnain and Rehan remained unbeaten on 38 and 44, respectively.
Elaf Advance lost to Crown Blue by 5 wickets. Elaf Advance was bowled out for 158. Siddik hit 26, Ehtesham 28, Basit 26, Nabeel and Azeem 16. Saqib Butt and Muteen claimed 2 wickets each.
Crown Blue reached 159 for 5 in 116 balls through Anwaar Chandi (36), Tasleem (50), Salim Mehar (19) and Iftikhar (16). Siddiq took 2-26.
Zultrack won the match by one run against APF. Zultrack piled up 178 for 9 with Ijaz Khan making 44 and Mudassir Gulab top scoring with 51 in 39 balls. Rashid and Imran contributed 17 each. Nouman took 3-29, Adnan 2-39 and Furqan 2-47. Asian Plastic Factory, in reply, was restricted to 177 for 8, losing by a solitary run. Shan Malik hammered 69 in 47 balls and Usman 22. Subaiyyal grabbed 3-32, while Qaim Khan and Imran took 2 scalps each.
Al-Safri trounced Aziziya Elegant by 7 wickets. Aziziya Elegant managed 153 for 8 through Suleman (37), Fahad (52 in 27 balls) and Waqar (27). Shahzad claimed 3-21 and Manjeet Kumar 2-25.
Al-Safri-XI was home in 62 balls, making 155 for 3. Rehan hammered 64 in 20 balls and Saeed Ahmed hit 41. The two added 105 in 31 balls for the first wicket. Manjeet Kumar remained unbeaten on 17. Fahad took 2 wickets.
My Care Hala Green had the last laugh against Fuchs Alhamrani by 47 runs. There was no stopping MCH Green as Mohammed Yasir was in awesome touch. He blasted an unbeaten 119 in 62 balls with 9 sixes and 7 fours. He lifted the team from 63 for 5 to 179 for 7. Saqib took 3-49 and Bilal 2.
Fuchs Alhamrani was stranded at 132 for 9. Nasir Khan hit 56 and Saqib 19. Attaurrehman took 3-27, while Umer and Nadeem got 2 each.
