Batsmen and bowlers share honors in WPCA Hyundai Afternoon

JEDDAH — Zultrack, UCC, Crown Blue, Pak Kashmir, Al-Safree and Contraco came out winners in the WPCA Hyundai Naghi Summer Afternoon Tournament matches played here recently.
Contraco thrashed Fuchs Alhamrani by 61 runs. Contraco, batting first, posted 145-6 with Maqsood making 46, Irfan 37 and Kaleem 24. Arshad took 2-16. Fuchs Alhamrani, in reply, was bundled out for 84 with Abdulrazzaq contributing 32 and Nasir Khan 20. Gul took 2-7 and Irfan Amin 2-11.
Al-Safree beat Marine Services by one run. Al-Safree, batting first, piled up 182-4. Rehan top-scored with 45, Aftab Malik remained unbeaten on 39 while Muneeb and Manjeet Kumar added 26 each. Marine Services responded with Sardar Amer remaining unbeaten on 50, while Kashif hit 48, Shakeel 27 and Tahir 23 to get to 181-8 in the allotted overs. Waseeq Sherwani took 2-30, Manjeet Kumar 2-40, Aftab Malik 2-27 and Rehan 2-38.
Pak Kashmir thrashed Pak Mecca-XI by seven wickets. Pak Mecca-XI scored 161-1 as skipper Yaser hit 79 and Irfan added 62. Pak Kashmir, in response, achieved the target of 167-3 thanks to Shad (48), Atta Khan (40), Sher Badar (35 not out) and Haneef (30 not out). Irfan took 2-41.
Crown Blue beat AOT Youngsters by seven wickets. AOT Youngsters posted 177-6. Salman made 58 and Malik added 51. Saqib Butt and Chand claimed two wickets each. Crown Blue scored 179-3. Nadeem Arshad hammered 62 off 27 balls, Saqib Butt added 42, Zaafran remained unbeaten on 35 and Saleem scored 27 not out.
Zultrack beat Hala International School by 75 runs. Zultrack amassed 198-5 through Usman Gulab hammering nine fours for his 43.
Khadim scored 43, while Omar Mukhtar managed 38 and Bilal Khan 29. Hala labored to 123-7 in the allotted overs. Anas Malik hit 55 and Mohsin Mirza 22. Omar Mukhtar grabbed 2-12.
United Cricket Club beat AMI Juffali by 18 runs. United Cricket Club racked up 187-8 through Waqas (85) and Shahnawaz Khan (47). Saboor Usmani took 2-28. AMI Juffali started well with openers Emad Uzbak (51) and Nadeem Uzbak (52) scoring 115 for the first wicket. But once they were out, Juffali lost wickets in quick succession to be stranded at 169-7 at the close. Zahid took 3-27.
