Amjad, Umar and Nadeem dominate WPCA Afternoon cricket

JEDDAH – Six thrilling matches were played in the Summer Afternoon Tournament, sponsored by Hyundai Naghi and organized by the Western Province Cricket Association, here recently. Crown Blue downed Al-Safree-XI, My Care Hala Green defeated Pak Mecca-XI, Nestle Milo had the last laugh against Marine Services, Hala School went down against Natcom, Hala Academy Blue thrashed Jotun Paints and Zultrack beat Fuchs Al-Hamrani.
Al-Safree used the track first against Crown Blue and was bundled out for 130. Wasiq Sherwani top-scored with 31, Aamer Khan added 30 and Rehan 25. Nadeem Shabbir bowled magnificently to claim 5-26 runs, while Saqib Butt bagged 4-24. Crown Blue reached the target for the loss for three wickets. Saleem made 43, Nadeem Arshad 34 and Saqib Butt 23.
In another match, Fuchs Alhamrani posted 175-5 in 18 overs. Abdulrazzaq scored 42, Ghafour 36, Irfan 33 and Saqib 20. Bilal Iqbal took 3-20 and Umar Mukhtar 2-38. Zultrack, in reply, was home for the loss of three wickets. Umar Mukhtar then blasted an unbeaten 82 (7x4 and 5x6) and Usman Gulab added 50.
The next encounter saw Natcom bowl out Hala International School for 126 as Asif Khan grabbed four wickets and then reached the winning post for the loss of two wickets in 60 balls. Abdulbasit scored 59 and Waqas hit 45. Mohammed claimed 2-18.
Another match saw Hala Academy Blue rack up 205-6. Amjad cracked 137 (10x4 and 9x6) and Abdulaleem 21 to put on 106 for the first wicket. Yusuf claimed 2-40 and Shabbir 2-42. Jotun Paints replied with 165-8 to lose by 40 runs. Shafeeq scored 28, Shabbir 27, Imran 24 and Salim Butt 20. Amjad claimed 2-23 and Abdulaleem 2-35.
Pak Mecca-XI scored 133-5 against My Care Hala Green. Skipper Yasir scored an unbeaten 40 while Haider remained unbeaten on 26. Kashif grabbed 2-26. My Care Hala Green scored the required 134 in 98 balls for the loss of five wickets. Noor hit unbeaten 50, Babar an unbeaten 26 and Salman 21. Imran took 2-31 for the Meccans.
Defending champion Nestle Milo scored 195-5. Zohaib scored 50, Azfar Sherazi 39, Abdullah Zahid 37 and Aijaz Butt 26. Yasin scalped 2-28 and Mursaleen 2-42. Marine Services replied with 153-8 to lose by 42 runs. Kashif hit 32, Umair 23 and Yasin remained unbeaten on 25. Aijaz Butt took 2-30, Haroon 2-30 and Abdullah Zahid 2-23.
