Awais excels; Contraco pips Al-Safree by 1 run

Awais of China Southern Airlines blasted an unbeaten 108 and took three wickets to win against Pak Kashmir, Dopco Young Stars thrashed Fuchs, Munch Bakery had the last laugh against Nestle Milo, Hala Academy Blue scraped through against AMI Juffali, Zultrack humbled Marine Services, Elaf Advance beat MCC and Contraco prevailed over Al-Safree in a cliffhanger in the WPCA Afternoon Championship.
Dopco Young Stars piled up 175-9 through Ali Nawaz 38, Tauseef 20, Saif 20 and 35 extras donated by Fuchs. Irfan Anjum took 3-21 and Abdulrazzaq 2-51. Fuchs Alhamrani was bowled out for 163 with only Fareed making 66 off 25 balls with nine fours and three sixes and Mukhtar 42. Afzal grabbed 3-25, Zeeshan 2-0 and Tauseef 2-28.
Nestle Milo managed 123-6 against Munch Bakery through Aijaz 27, Nadeem Shabbir 23 and Sajjad Butt 18. Munawwer took 2-9. Munch Bakery reached 127-3 in 70 balls through Munawwer, who faced 15 ball to hit three sixes and one four to compile an unbeaten 34, Tariq Jamal 29, Nabeel 24 and Shahzad 23 not out. Abdulrehman scalped 2-26.
AMI Juffali, batting first, posted 170-9. Najam Uzbek top scored with 41, Mustafa made 32 and Asif 23. Shahbaz Manu took 4-32. Hala Academy Blue responded through Talha who hammered a valuable 73, Amjad scored 32 and Saim Sherwani 40 to get to the victory target of 171 with two balls to spare and six wickets in hand. Imad took 3-29.
Marine Services was bundled out for 105 with only Sohail making 35 and Mubarak 20 not out. Subail grabbed 3-12, Imran 2-32 and Imtiyaz 3-8. Zultrack, in reply, achieved 106-4 in just 84 balls with four overs to spare. Khadim made 30 and Immad Ali 21. Fazal took 2-19.
China Southern Airlines plundered massive 220-3 against Pak Kashmir through star performer Awais who hit 18 fours and a six for an unbeaten 108. Qasim Butt compiled 45. They added 102 runs for the second wicket in 46 balls. Pak Kashmir, in response, managed 165-4. Awais grabbed 3-32. Jabar made 39, Munir Khan 37 and Waqas 27.
Elaf Advance piled up 160-6 against MCC through Siddique making 62 in 31 balls and Ijaz Butt 20. In reply, MCC was bowled out for 134. Abdul Basit top scored with 29 and Zahoor made 24. Irfan took 3-33, Majed 2-21 and Usman 2-32. Contraco chose to bat against Al-Safree and racked up 200-5. Kaleem hammered 58, Irfan hit 45 and Nisar 36. There were 36 extras. Wasiq Sherwani had 2-52. Al-Safree, requiring 18 runs to win in the penultimate over, could make 16 and lost by just one run. Manjeet stroked 66 in 47 balls, Shakeel contributed 41 off 24 and Muneeb 36. __
