JEDDAH — The Saudi (Jeddah) chapter the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (1990-2015) held it silver jubilee celebrations at Sahel Sheraton Resort in Jeddah on April 25 with sports cum entertainment activities for members, their families and guests. Chairman Nadeem Bhamla, while welcoming members and guests, reviewed the chapter's activities and commended efforts of committee members to provide eight quality technical sessions with renowned speakers from various fields. He briefed members on the financial position of 2014, which will enable it to carry on the professional activities in 2015. He thanked all sponsors and members for their support, particularly committee members who worked tirelessly to make the grand silver jubilee event a great success. To commemorate the occasion, a souvenir was released. The souvenir comprised messages from the consul general of India, the president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and chairmen of the group's GCC and overseas chapters, in addition to articles on professional topics and write-ups on issues of common interest to the community in general. The souvenir also contained highlights of professional events conducted by the chapter with photographs and print media coverage, profiles of the chapter and committee members as well as advertisements covering 42 sponsors. A grand raffle with over 100 prizes was held comprising products ranging from air tickets, gold coins, LCDs, laptops, iPads, gift vouchers, cell phones, wrist watches, perfume sets and electronic items. The top five prizes sponsored by Middle East Paper Company, Wynyard, Ernst Young and Deloitte were won by Madhur Gupta (25 gram gold), Irfan Alladin (20 gram gold), Imran Ahmed (Note Edge), Jaber Valiyakath and Naimuddin Khan (15 gram gold each). Winners of other prizes included Alfiya (iPhone6 by PWC), Badrullah (iPhone6 by KPMG), Huzefa (S6 by MALJCO), Sajjadali (air ticket by Unitrans Budget), Dilip Tiwari (S6 by Moataz Madani), Javed Akhtar (Note 4 by ALJCO), Zaki Shaikh and Omar Saraswala (air tickets by Air India), Sarfaraz (S5 by United Biscuit), Irfan Bhimdiwala (Note 3 by M.Khashoggi Law Firm), Kuldeep Gupta (Note 3 by Initial Saudi Arabia), Vijay Purori (iPad Mini by Sadafco). Other winners received 18 Titan solar watches, 18 Cross watches, 5 Canon cameras, 20 Centrepoint vouchers, 5 Savola vouchers, 5 IKEA vouchers. At the end of the event, outgoing chairman Nadeem Bhamla introduced new Chairman Irfan Bhimdiwala, Vice Chairman Sajjadali Gulamhussein, General Secretary Huzefa Saylawala and Treasurer Mohammed Sajid Razi Lulania. Each member was given a gift of a 2.5 gram gold coin, Avon perfume pack and Tamer perfume pack. As a token of appreciation the chapter felicitated all sponsors with Cross Pen sponsored by Tamer and Perfume sponsored by Avon. Children won skate cycles and remote controlled toys sponsored by Binzagr Coro. A tambola game was sponsored by California Computers and Al Hamli Trading. — SG
