Prince Sultan T20 Cup kicks off at RCL

RIYADH — Prince Sultan T20 Cup kicked off at Riyadh Cricket League (RCL) Complex here recently.

The tournament, which could be the last major tournament for the season, has been dedicated to the Patron in Chief of RCL Prince Sultan Bin Nasser Bin Abdelaziz Al-Saud.

Thirty-Nine teams are taking part in the event. They are divided into three groups. Twelve teams are taking part in Super League, 14 in Premier-I League and 13 in Premier-II League. Six matches were played on the first matchday.

OSN Warriors Cricket Club got the better of Pure Health CC by 7 wickets. Batting first, Pure Health made 130. Jameel hit 23, Feroz 44 and Waseem 20. Nishad claimed 3 wickets, while Rafi and Rafay took 2 each. In reply, OSN Warriors achieved the target in 13.2 overs. Tahir Bin Jafer made 35, Zaheerudin Khalid 37 and Faizan 25. Khaseem took 2 wickets. Man of the Match: Zaheerudin Khalid.

Run Riders beat Victory-XI by 24 runs. Taking the strike first, Run Riders put on 141. Rayees was the top scorer with 65. Shakeel added 18 and Mahmood 23. Nazar scalped 6 wickets and Atif 2. Victory-XI was bowled out for 117 with only Dinesh making 34. Shakeel, Saleem and Sameer took 2 wickets each. Man of the Match: Rayees.

The match between Diamond Cricket Club and Fakhar Afghan CC ended in a tie. Fakhar Afghan scored 148 in its quota of overs. Hanan made 56 and Babo 24. Shaji took 4 wickets, while Rahim and Tayab bagged 2 each. Diamond tried its best but could only manage to tie the match. Taib made 33, Shafi 24 and Khaja 17. Kamran claimed 5 wickets and Abdulrehman 2. Man of the Match: Kamran.

Black Caps thrashed SACO CC by 73 runs. Batting first, Black Caps made 144. Mukeem (34), Saud (24) and Yasir (25) were among the runs. Masood took 3 wickets and Uday 2. SACO collapsed for 72 as Yasir took 3 wickets and Zahid 2. Man of the Match: Yasir.

Riyadh Avengers punished Dirab Golf CC by 10 wickets. Derab Golf posted 194. Aamir was the top run-maker with 52. Aasif Sheikh snatched 2 wickets, while Aamir, Ahsan and Zahid took 1 each. Riyadh Avengers achieved the target in 13.1 overs without any loss. Aamir smashed 90 and Ashan 89. Man of the Match: Aamir.

Maestro Cricket Club got the better of Diamond-XI by 4 wickets. Diamond posted 157 with Azhar Mahmoud making 76 and Munazir 38. Feroz took 2 wickets. In reply, Maestro was home for the loss of 6 wickets in 17.3 overs. Jamal Khan scored 22, Ashfaque Qureshi 37 and Mohsin Bhat 29. Ganesh took 2 wickets. Man of the Match: Ashfaque Qureshi.
