OSN up against KPK in ACL final

ABHA — OSN and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) will cross swords in the final of the MoneyGram CKB 2015 Tourmnament which is sponsored by MoneyGram Money Transfer Agency under the auspices of Saudi Cricket Centre.

In the first semifinal OSN defeated Al-Ghahtani Pepsi by 30 runs. OSN piled up 208 for 7 in 20 overs as Aijaz Basheer hammered 101, Roofi Ahmed 46 and Farasat Afridi 26. Shahid took 3 wickets and Abrar 2. Al-Ghahtani Pepsi, in reply, could manage only 178 for 7. Abrar Mushtaq hit 61 and Rafeeq Butt 20. Inamullah and Chin Zaib took 2 wickets each.

The other semifinal saw Khyber Pakhtunkhwa edge Green Stars by 6 runs. Batting first, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa plundered 227 for 3 in 20 overs thanks to a fine century by Akbar Ali (110). Waqas added 55 and Rasheed 18. Mohammed Afzal claimed 2 wickets. Green Stars, in reply, batted magnificently but fell short as it could post only 221 for 8. Sibghatullah made 40, Nazakat 37, Amir 35 and Rashid 32. Akbar Ali and Waqas took 2 scalps each.

Earlier in the quarterfinals, OSN defeated Saudi German Hospital by 6 wickets. Saudi German posted 130 for 7, thanks to Waseem (43), Ramazan (22) and Yogi (18). Inamullah and Abdussalam bagged 2 wickets each. OSN in chase got to 131 in 106 balls with 6 wickets in hand. Farasatullah Afridi hit 52, Waseem 32 and Roofu Ahmed 18. Ahsan captured 3 wickets.

In the second QF, Green Stars downed Faisalabad Kings by 4 wickets. Faisalabad Kings produced 211 for 4 as Usman notched 72 and Saleem Butt 45. Mohammed Afzal took 2 wickets. Green Stars were home (212) with 4 wickets in hand and 3 balls to spare. Rasheed scored 47, Yaseen 41, Sibghatullah 26 and Abrara 17. Saleem Butt took 3 wickets.

In the third quarter, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa downed Lahore Badshah by 47 runs. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa racked up 207 for 8 as Akbar Ali hit 69, Waqas 40, Ali Rehman 18 and Rameez 15. Arsalan and Rasheed took 3 wickets each. Lahore Badshah was restricted to 160 for 7. Qamar Hussaqin scored 61, Arsalan 22 and Asif Abrar 17. Muslim Khan had 3 wickets and Waqas 2.

The last quarterfinal saw Al-Ghahtani Pepsi trounce Young Stars by 59 runs. Al-Ghahtani produced 230 thanks to Asghar Ali (55), Abrara Mushtaq (43), Shoukat Ali Shad (32) and Tariq Butt (29). Young Stars, in reply, could post only 171 as Saqib scored 85 and Rashed 43. Mohammed Bilal took 3 wickets, while Abrar Mushataq, Rafeeq and Mohammed Shahzad claimed 2 each. — SG
