Al-Zabeya off to fine start in Jazan

JAZAN — Al-Zabeya CC defeated Pak National by 2 wickets in the JRCA MoneyGram CKB Cricket Tournament, organized by Jazan Region Cricket Association (JRCA) under the auspices of Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC) and sponsored by MoneyGram Transfer Service.

Batting first, Pak National CC posted 105 with Shahed Bhatti making 22, Khalid 14, Taher 10 and Manzoore 8. Arshad grabbed 4 wickets and Imran 3. Al-Zabeya reached 110 for 8 in the last over. Yaseen hit 34, Arshad 10 and Bahader 8. Khaled grabbed 3 wickets, while Zahoor and Irfan got one each.

In the second match, Al-Rashed University downed Farsan Island by 10 runs. Al-Rashed University opted to bat first and piled up 158 as Samran stroked 42, Hamed 29, Asif 24 and Basger 15. Islam took 3 wickets, while Rezwan and Zaker had 2 each. Farsan Island, in reply, managed 148 to lose the match by 10 runs. Islam scored 60 and Rizwan 32. Alam Khan bowled magnificently to take 4 wickets, Raheem had 3 and Zaker 2.

In the third encounter, Fahad CC thrashed Pak Ittehad by 105 runs. Fahad CC elected to bat first and plundered 146 as Nadeem compiled 61 in 34 balls, Asif Ghafour 40, Suleman 24 and Faisal 26. Shehzad grabbed 4 wickets, while Ijaz and Asim took 2 each. Pak Ittehad, in response, was bowled out for just 41 in 13 overs. Usman and Afzal contributed 10 each. Faisal took 3 for 24, while Mohammed Ali and Shaehzad claimed 2 each.

In another match, Pak National won against Samta CC by 98 runs. Pak National, opting to bat first, racked up 205 with fine batting by Taher Mushtaque who hammered 79. Mohsin made 27 and Arif 17. Bobby took 2 wickets, while Nadeem and Waleed accounted for one each. Samta CC while chasing was restricted to 107 in 18 overs. Haris scored 30, Abdullah 30 and Nadeem 10.

In the last match, Lahore CC trounced Al-Sabeya University by 27 runs. Lahore CC chose to bat first and tallied 119 in 13 overs. Asif made 35, Kashif 15 and Shahed 17. Afzal claimed 3 for 20, Haji Abid 3 for 19 while one each went to Fayez and Sadaqat. Sabeya University, in reply, was stranded at 92 in 17 overs. Ilyas hit 30 and Rafaqat 15. Shahed and Najmuddin grabbed 3 wickets each, while Zeeshan Falaksher and Kashif had one each.
