Pervez century goes in vain; Pak Mecca XI wins

A fine century (120) by Pervez could not save his team GGI against Pak Mecca XI in the Afternoon League Championship of the Western Province Cricket Association. Atlas, Pak Mecca XI, MCC, Jotun Paints and Contraco won their matches at Eskan grounds.
Atlas, batting first, piled up 163 for 7 against Hala Academy Blue. Usman Ali hit 53 in 36 balls, Imran 42 and Arshad 27 in 10 balls. Safiullah of Hala Blue grabbed 4 wickets for 19.
Hala Academy Blue, in reply, could reach 149 for 8 with Amjad making 46 and Talha 24. Zafar took 4 wickets for 16, Arshad 2-24 and Nadeem Shabbir 2-33.
Pak Mecca XI opted to bat first against GGI and plundered 215 for 3 through Shoeb (74 off 48 balls) and Amir (47) and Umair (41 not out).
GGI, in response, came close to 206 for 5 and lost by 9 runs, thanks to Pervez who blasted 120 in 57 balls with the help of 11 fours and 4 sixes and Tariq who made 57. Ejaz scalped 3-48.
AMI Juffali stroked 161 for 6 against MCC. Imad hit 52 off 34 balls, Imran 30 and Rafi Gujjar 29. Aftab Khan took 2-31.
MCC, in reply, achieved the winning target of 164 for 3 in 97 balls as Aftab Khan stroked 50 in 23 balls and Asif faced 35 balls to remain unbeaten on 53. Abdul Basit made 34 not out.
Fuchs Al-Hamrani crumbled to 109 for 9 against Jotun Paints with only Irfan crossing the double digit (34) as Imran bowled devastatingly to take 5 wickets for 22 runs.
Jotun Paints, in response, was home at 110 for 4. Shafiq made 28 and Mazher 27.
Contraco elected to bat first against Marine Services and piled up 157 for 8 with Maqsood making 53 and Sajjad 18 not out. Kashif took 3-17, Riyaz 3-29 and Yasin 2-30.
In response, Marine Services could get to 133 for 8 and lost by 25 runs. Maqsood and Irfan took 3 wickets each for 25 and 42 runs respectively. Sohail contributed 26 and Naseer 24.
My Care Green was declared winner against Alpha Srilankan on technical grounds.
