Azher, Aftab's centuries lift their sides in Afternoon tourney

Azher of My care Hala Green smashed a century off just 30 deliveries as his 50 came off 13 balls and Aftab Khan of MCC hit an unbeaten 105 in the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) Afternoon tournament here last weekend.
My Care Hala Green, China Southern Airlines, Juffali AMI, Pak Mecca-XI, Al-Safree and Desert Lions all won their respective encounters.
Azher of My Care Hala Green plundered 12 fours and 6 sixes to reach 110 off 39 balls. Azher and Hassan Malik, who hit 67, added 137 runs for the second wicket. Salman added 36 and Yasir 37 to take the score to 269-4 against Pak Kashmir. Omer took 2-40. Pak Kashmir in reply never seemed to be in the hunt and was restricted to 146-6 to lose by 123 runs. Shabbir topscored with 35, while Azher took 2-38.
China Southern Airlines racked up 208-5 against Elaf Advance. Sayed Asim hit an unbeaten 80, while Farooq added 37, Awais 35 and Faheem 31. Elaf Advance in reply could only get to 144-9, thus losing the match by 64 runs. Ali scored 37, Usman Gulab 35 and Omer 25. Fahad claimed 2-4, Adalat 2-26 and Farooq 2-28.
Al-Safree posted 141-9 against Hala Academy Blue with Sayed scoring 26 and Shakeel 20 runs. Ramazan took 3-10, Mehfooaz 2-16 and Rafee 2-27. Hala Academy Blue in response was bundled out for 124 runs as Wasiq Sherwani grabbed 4-10, Mubashir 3-33 and Zahid 2-1. Usman made 51 runs and Mohammed 20.
Jotun Paints posted 161-6 against Pak Mecca-XI with Sajid topscoring with 42 and Ejaz adding 25. Umair claimed 3-29. Pak Mecca-XI responded with Yasir hitting an unbeaten 98 and Umair scoring an unbeaten 55 to reach the victory target of 162-1. Zultrack batting first against MCC could score only 149-7 as Hazarat Ali topscored with 49 and Chand made 26. Zahoor grabbed 2-22, Aftab Khan 2-27 and Nasir 2-38. MCC was home with 152-2 with Aftab Khan smashing an unbeaten 105 and Aamir making 29. Imran had 2-25.
Elswhere Munch Bakery was declared winner against IDB, while Desert Lions bundled out Contraco for 87 to win comfortably.
GGI facing Juffali AMI could make only 115 runs with Pervez scoring 26 as Najam Uzbak and Asif claimed three wickets each. Juffali AMI was home with six wickets in hand with Mustafa scoring 46 and Imad adding 31. __
