RIYADH — KFSH Blues and Pak Shaheen emerged champions in their respective divisions following finals in the MoneyGram Cricket Ke Badshah (CKB) T20 Tournament here Friday.
KFSH Blues outplayed CKK by 34 runs in the President Division final. KFSH Blues, opting to bat, put on 228-6. Openers Nasir Abbasi (19) and Ayaz Mohammed (34) started briskly, but got out in quick succession. Irshad Mubashir (36), Qaiser Hussain (34) and Saqib Saleem (24) carried the momentum. Later Imtiaz Ahmed's quick-fire 59 (5 sixes) helped the team to a big total. Nadeem Asghar and Nouman Asghar bagged two wickets each, while Ali Shahid claimed one.
Chasing the formidable target, CKK started disastrously when it lost its first wicket on the very first ball of the innings. After the early loss, Raja Gulraiz's pace troubled CKK top order and it kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Najeeb Asghar showed some resistance in the middle order and scored a classy 82. Imran Kifayat and Hisham Sheikh added 24 each, but could not save their team from the clutches of defeat as the team could manage only 194-7. Raja Gulraiz and Irshad Mubashir picked 2 wickets each, while Syed Usman and Khurram Baig bagged 1 each. Man-of-the-Match: Imtiaz Ahmed.
Pak Shaheen beat Amir Holidays by 1 wicket to clinch the Chairman Division crown. Amir Holidays, electing to bat first, scored 212-6. Sami Arshad played a blistering knock of 71 off 35 balls. Kamran Hadi (29), Umair Sheikh (28) and Nadeem Bhatti (21) made decent contributions. Ibrar Ul Haq was the pick of the bowlers as he took 3-40. Abuzar, Abdulwahab and Abdulwaheed took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Pak Shaheen started briskly with Ibrar Ul Haq scoring 69 off 28 balls (6 sixes). After the dismissal of Ibrar Ul Haq, Pak Shaheen lost its way losing some quick wickets, but Yassir and Qadir added 42 and 23, respectively, to take the team closer to its target. Abuzar hit a decisive boundary on the fifth ball of the last over to take Pak Shaheen to victory. Kamran Hadi grabbed 2 wickets, while Arsalan, Imran, Nadeem and Samiullah took 1 each. The tournament was organized by Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) under the auspices of Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC) and sponsored by MoneyGram Transfer Service.
Earlier, in the President Division semifinals CKK outclassed Shuraim by 52 runs. CKK 163 all out (Nouman 40, Sajid 24, Basit 30; Rizwan 4 wickets, while Shahnawaz and Abdul 3 each). Shuraim 111 all out (Rizwan 27 and Zeeshan 22; Ali Shahid 4 wickets, while Nabeel and Nadeem got 2 each)

KFSH Blues downed Lahore Lions by 39 runs. KFSH Blues 237 (Irshad Mubashir 94 and Nasir Abbasi 63, Qaiser Hussain 61; Usman and Nawaz picked one wicket each). Lahore Lions 198 (Nawaz 48, Atif 47, Sarfraz 32 and Mansoor 22; Saqib 3 wickets, while Usman and Irshad got 2 each).
In the Chairman Division semis Pak Shaheen edged pass Crescent by 3 wickets. Crescent 182 (Faisal 57, Usman 33, Moazam 24 and Shahzad 21; Abdul Waheed 4 wickets, Abdul Wahab 2). Pak Shaheen 183-7 (Abdul Qadir 33, Abdul Salam 32 and Abdul Wahab 2; Mohsin 3 wickets and Faisal 2).
Amir Holidays trounced Yusafzayi-XI by 125 runs. Amir Holidays 264-8 (Sami Arshad 67, Irfan 54, Kamran Hadi 33, Shahbaz 31 and Imran 25; Yassir 3 wickets and Fahad 2). Yusafzayi-XI 139 (Tariq 48, Altaf 30; Kamran Hadi 4 wickets).
