Faisal, Sulaiman set Saudi Gazette Inter-School tourney alight

RIYADH — Faisal Khan (142) of PISR-N shone with the bat, while his schoolmate Sulaiman (4 wickets) made his mark with the ball as the Second Saudi Gazette Inter-School Cricket tournament witnessed four thrilling matches here recently.
Riyadh Cricket League is organizing the tournament, sponsored by Saudi Gazette and played under the sponsorship of Saudi Cricket Centre. The matches are played every Saturday.
The first match saw Pakistan International School Riyadh Nasriya (PISR-N) beat RAC Combined School-XI by 22 runs in their U-16 match. Batting first, PISR-N put on 194. Abdullah and Haseeb provided a good opening stand of 63.
Abdullah added 35, Mubashir 37, Yasir 28 and Salman 17. Zowair took 3 wickets, while Nawaz and Affan bagged 1 each. In reply, RAC was bowled out for 171. Nawaz hit 32, while Inam added 15, Zowair 14 and Krish 11.
Sulaiman Khan bowled well and claimed 4 wickets. Abdullah took 2, while Haseeb, Yasir and Moid claimed 1 each. Sulaiman Khan was declared the Man-of-the-Match.
International Indian School Riyadh A (IISR-A) beat International Indian School Riyadh B (IISR-B) by 73 runs in their U-16 encounter. Batting first, IISR-A scored 197. Mukul posted 64 with 9 boundaries. He was well supported by Aakefin (57 with 6 boundaries) and Sohail (36). Zohair took 2 wickets, while Misbah, Ahad, Azan and Imad bagged a wicket each. In reply, IISR-B was bundled out for 121. Omar hit 19, Imar 14, while Ahad and Misbah scored 16 each. Mukul and Amir took 2 wickets each, while Sohail, Saud, Irfan and Easa took 1 each. Mukul was named the Man-of-the-Match.
The third match saw Pakistan International School Riyadh Nasriya (PISR-N) beat International Indian School Riyadh-A (IISR-A) by 144 runs in their U-19 match. Taking the strike first PISR-N put on 247. Faisal Khan was in form as he scored a splendid century (142 with 19 boundaries and 2 sixes).
Omer (76 with 12 boundaries) gave him able support as they scored 211 for the opening wicket. Noor, Ibrahim and Hisham took 1 wicket each. In reply, IISR-A was bowled out for 103. Hisham hit 19, while Abdul Rahman added 14. Omer and Amin claimed 3 wickets each, Yasir took 2, while Asad and Faisal bagged 1 each. Faisal Khan was declared the Man-of-the-Match.
Pakistan International School Riyadh — English Section (PISR-ES) won its second U-19 match beating International Indian School Riyadh B (IISR-B) by 6 wickets. Batting first, IISR-B scored 152. Hadi (48) and Majid (19) provided an opening stand of 79. Shaheer added 32. Zain took 2 wickets, while Athar took 1. In reply, PISR-ES reached the target in 14.2 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Osama played a sensible innings of 46. Kaleem added 25, Asad 19, Anas 18 and Athar 12 for a winning cause. Inzimam, Sajid, Antony and Khalil claimed 1 wicket each. Osama was declared the Man-of-the-Match.
