RIYADH — The Sikander Farooqui Memorial Cricket Tournament, being organized by Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) and sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center (SCC), witnessed close matches here recently.
In Al-Kharj Zone, Amir Holidays beat KFSH Blues by 10 runs. Batting first, Amir Holidays posted 328-9 in 40 overs. Sajid Saeed played brilliantly to make 80. Imran, Irfan and Nadeem also batted well and added 79, 56 and 32 runs, respectively. For Blues, Imtiaz Butt and Irshad Mubashir picked 3 wickets each. KFSH Blues started well and were looking good to chase the target, but collapsed and fell short of target by 10 runs. Khurram Baig was unfortunate as he got out on 99. Qaiser Hussain scored a blistering 86. Nasir Abbasi added 38. Nadeem took 3 wickets, while Imran and Sami Arshad got 2 each.
In another match, Shuraim beat Lahore Badshah by 2 runs. Shuraim batted first and tallied 383. Zeeshan scored 104, Nouman 88 and Rizwan 80. Asif claimed 4 wickets, while Shoaib got 2. Lahore Badshah batted well, but fell short by just 2 runs. Yassir batted brilliantly for 106. Other notable contributions came from Fahad 88, Wahab 48, Asif 44, Adnan 32 and Adeel 30. Zeeshan also performed well with the ball and picked up 3 wickets.
In Huraymala Zone, Riyadh Warriors beat Crescent by 3 wickets. Crescent batted first and managed 158-5 with contributions from Faisal 56, Mubashir 35, Imran 28 and Mohsin 23. Shaik took 3 wickets. Warriors achieved the target in 19.2 overs. Abdulraheem made 36, Abdulaziz 27, Shaik 25, while Abdulghafoor and Majid scored 22 each. Moazam and Mohsin grabbed two wickets each.
Lahore Cricket Club (LCC) beat Green Bangla by 6 wickets. Green Bangla batted first and scored 157. For LCC, Naeem took 4 wickets, while Jahangir got 3. LCC achieved the target in 17.5 overs with contributions from Salman 50, Amir 42 and Asif 26.
KFSH Green beat Fuchs by 2 wickets. Fuchs batted first and scored 167-5. Nazim top-scored with 47. Safdar took 2 wickets. KFSH Green achieved the target in 19.4 overs, thanks to a fine innings of 72 by Rafaqat. Rizwan and Owais picked up two wickets each.
Sulaiman-XI thrashed Indian Strikers by 8 wickets. Indian Strikers batted first and made 153. Sulaiman was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets. He was ably supported by Shakeel, Ejaz and Qamar who got 2 wickets each. Sulaiman-XI achieved the target in 12.5 overs. Azhar added 43, Mudassir 38 and Sulaiman 36.
Stallions defeated Star-XI. Star-XI was bundled out for 114, thanks to a menacing bowling performance by Amir Zulfiqar who took 5 wickets. Stallions raced to the target in 11.1 overs. Imran Younus added 58 and Yassir 21.
Yusafzai-XI beat Al-Momen International School by 6 wickets. Al-Momen batted first and managed 167. Mohsin was the pick of the bowlers for Yusafzai who grabbed 5 wickets. Khursheed and Asif took 3 and 2 wickets, respectively. Yusafzai achieved the target in 18 overs. Altaf hit 42, Asif 40 and Mohsin 37.
In Riyadh Zone, Nouman Gymkhana beat Friends-XI by 34 runs. Nouman Gymkhana batted first and scored 224. Shahzad scored 81, Abdullah 42, Aftab 30 and Amjad 28. Etrut took 3 wickets, while Abdulrahim got 2. Friends-XI, in reply, managed 190. Abdulrahim scored 41 and Abdulrahman 29. Yassir and Amjad picked two wickets each.
Grundfos thrashed Majlis-e-Pakistan (MPCC) by 102 runs. Grundfos scored 149. Faris added 60 and Ali 38. MPCC was all out for a paltry 47. Ali, Imran and Arsalan claimed 2 wickets each. Kashmir-XI beat Pak Eagles by 40 runs. Kashmir-XI batted first and scored 167-6. Shabir hit 52 and Fayyaz 37. Saqib took 3 wickets, while Wahid got 2. Pak Eagles managed 127, in reply. Saqib hit 30 and Farooq 23. Azhar Banday grabbed 4 wickets, while Basit got 3.
Kingdom Warriors defeated Pak Fighters by 1 wicket. Pak Fighters batted first and scored 111 with notable contributions from Ismail 23 and Halal 21. Farhan took 4 wickets and Adil got 2. Warriors achieved the target in 18.3 overs. Zeeshan added 21. Waseem took 4 wickets.
TBCC beat Delhi Dare Devils by 57 runs. TBCC batted first and scored 186. Khader hit 53, Faisal 51, Shareef 35 and Salam 28. Dare Devils, in reply, managed 129. Lajeesh picked 3 wickets, while Riyadh, Faisal and Salam took 2 wickets each.
Seham defeated Royal Strikers by 7 wickets. Strikers batted first and scored 131. For Seham, Tahir picked 3 wickets, while Mohammed and Waseem 2 each. Seham achieved the target in 14 overs. Majid scored 37 and Waseem 25.
Imran-XI beat Kohsar Cricket Club (KCC) by 20 runs. Imran-XI batted first and scored 159. Israr added 37, Majid 36 and Zia 34. Nasir Abbasi took 3 wickets. KCC managed 139, in reply. Nasir Abbasi scored 51, while Meraj added 22. Hazrat Hussain claimed 3 wickets.
AKCC beat Pak Force by 38 runs. AKCC scored 169. Shahbaz hit 76 and Ayaimal 35. Shahid and Faisal picked two wickets each. Pak Force, in reply, scored 131. Rizwan added 45 and Faisal 35. Ayaimal claimed four wickets, while Khawar Abbas got 2.
