Freight, Finance win in Kanoo Inter-Division Tournament

RIYADH — Kanoo Freight and Kanoo Finance recorded victories over AXA Insurance and Kanoo Commercial, respectively, in the ongoing Kanoo Inter-Division Cricket Tournament here recently.
Kanoo Freight beat AXA Insurance by 23 runs. Electing to bat first, Kanoo Freight scored 96-7 against AXA Insurance.
Qadir and Bashir posted 36 runs for the opening wicket. Ranjith was 29 not out, while Qadir contributed 19 and Vasanth 16. Muzaffar picked up two wickets, while Arshad bagged one. Chasing a modest total, AXA Insurance was restricted to 73-8. Qadir took three wickets, while Ranjith and Vasanth bagged two each.
In another match, Kanoo Finance beat Kanoo Commercial by six wickets. Commercial, batting first, put on 99-4. Zahir scored a quick-fire 39 and was ably supported by Riyaz 13. Arun and Kiri bagged one wicket each.
In reply, Finance romped home in the 10th over for the loss of four wickets. Touse hit 36 (2x4) and Jafar 32 (4x4). Zahir was the most successful bowler for Commercial. He bagged three wickets, while Riaz took one.
In the matches played the previous week, Freight beat Finance by 26 runs. Electing to bat first, Freight scored 89-6. Ranjith scored 33 and Vasanth 29. Arun P. took two wickets, while Siva, Arun K. and Jaffer bagged a wicket each. In reply, Finance was bowled out for 63 runs. Hari top-scored with 23. Vasanth and Qadir took two wickets each, while Bashir and Qadir bagged a wicket each for Freight.
In another match AXA Insurance beat Travels in a nail-biting match. Batting first, AXA Insurance scored 104-1. Asmath top-scored with 48 not out and Hakim remained unbeaten on 35. In reply, Travels started well with Riaz (44) and Shafee (26) smashing 59 runs for the opening wicket. Riju added 19.
However, batsmen to follow failed and Travels was restricted to 103-4. Muzzaffar and Hakim took a wicket each for AXA Insurance.
