RIYADH — Commercial, Travel, Finance and AXA posted victories in the Kanoo Inter-Division Cricket Tournament here recently. Kanoo Travel, winning the toss and electing to bat against Kanoo Freight, posted 118 for 3 in its allotted overs. It was helped by good knocks from Riyaz (20), Shafee Syed (42) and Vikram (35 not out). Samanth and Qadir bagged a wicket apiece for Kanoo Freight. Chasing the target, Kanoo Freight was restricted to 98. Qadir (35), Nichson (30) and Ranjith (19) batted well for the loser. Shakir took two wickets, while Riju bagged one wicket for Kanoo Travels. In another match, Kanoo Commercial and AXA played an exciting tied match with scores level at 97 after their full quota of overs. Junaid (36) and Riyaz (16) batted well for Kanoo Commercial, while Asif took two wickets and Sabic one for Axa. Asmath (34) and Asif (25) were the notable contributors with the bat in AXA's innings. In earlier matches, Kanoo Commercial, helped by Junaid's brilliant 92, beat Kanoo Travels by 49 runs, while Kanoo Finance lost to AXA by 4 wickets. In all, five teams — Kanoo Travel, Kanoo Commercial, Kanoo Freight, Kanoo Finance and AXA — are taking part in this tournament and matches are being played on a double league basis with top four teams qualifying for the semifinals.
