YANBU — Four matches were played in the second leg of the YACA T20 Cup being played at Yanbu Cricket stadium.
In the first contest, Natpet earned a nail-biting win over Man Health Club.
Batting first, Man Health Club batsman looked in complete disarray from the word go. Man Health could only muster 89 runs in 15 overs. Shoiab and Hassan took 3 wickets each. Natpet batsman started the chase disastrously.
The bowlers helped Man Health Club make early inroads in the Natpet batting lineup. The match seemed to be in Man Health Club's grasp until the sensible innings from Natpet tail-enders, particularly Sohrab (21) and Hassan (11), saw Natpet home for a 2-wicket win in the penultimate over.
In the second match, the rejuvenated Punjab-XI piled up a decent score of 117. Opener Sami scored 36 while Sajid remained unbeaten on 28. Patel was the pick of the bowlers for RC claiming 3-19. In reply, RC fell short by 13 runs as it was bowled out for 104 in the final over. Amir Ali fought a lone battle by scoring 56. Arshad of Punjab-XI bagged 3 wickets and was adjudged the man of the match.
In the third clash, Pak Crescent, batting first, set a target of 130 against crystal. Nadeem Javed scored an unbeaten 68 (2 fours and 4 sixes).
Crystal started its innings in a lackluster fashion and lost wickets at regular intervals. The defeat looked imminent after Nasim of Crystal fell for 21. Eventually Crystal was bundled out for 79, thereby handing a huge win to Pak crescent. Nadeem Javed claimed 3 wickets and was the obvious choice for man of the match award.
In the last encounter, Kashmir-XI faced Indo Rider. Deciding to bat first, Kashmir-XI scored 82-8 in 20 overs. Tariq Jalali remained unbeaten on 22.
Tayoob, Faisal and Wasey took 2 wickets each. Chasing the modest score, Indo Riders lost openers early. But a decisive unbeaten knock of 51 runs by Wasey saw Indo Riders overhaul Kashmir-XI total for the loss of 4 wickets in 14 overs. Wasey was declared the man of the match for his all-round show.
