Hyundai Afternoon quarters lineup set

JEDDAH — The quarterfinals lineup in the ongoing Hyundai Afternoon Tournament, which is being organized by the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA), is complete following matches played here recently.
The first match saw Dopco Young Stars beat Pak Makkah by 62 runs. Dopco, batting first, piled up 174-7. Ali scored 55 off 29 balls, Khoker added 22, Yasir 28 and Basheer 23. Majid took 3-30 and Hashim 2-32. Pak Makkah, in reply, could only get to 112-4 with Kashif making 19. Hassan took 2-14. The win sent Dopco Young Stars to the top of the group.
The second match saw Crown Blue beat Zultrack by 7 wickets. Zultrack, batting first, scored 185-6. Ali made 50, Subaiyal 54, Sadiq 27 and Ashique 21. Malik Aijaz took 3-20. Crown Blue achieved the target of 186 in 83 balls for the loss of three wickets. Nadeem Arshad hammered a century (130 off 48 balls — 16 fours and 7 sixes), while Sadiq Butt hit 22. Sadik scalped 2-28.
In another match Hala International School beat UCC by 70 runs. Hala took the strike first to pile up 169-7. Noman scored 49, Zeeshan 28 and Mohsin Mirza 21. Mazhar Khan claimed 3-26. UCC, in reply, was left stranded at 99 to pave the way for the Schoolboys to reach the last eight. Mohsin Mirza Baig grabbed 3-7, Ibrahim scalped 3-24 and Abdulwasay 2-25.
My Care Hala Green beat AOT Youngsters in another outing. Batting first, AOT Youngsters made 138. Rafique scored 33, while Zakir and Shahid made identical 23, as Hisham hit 21. Naeem took 2-15, Hassan Malik 2-20 and Inayat 2-35. My Care Hala Green won the match on the penultimate ball with Osama hitting 40 and Azhar making 37. Rafiq took 2-28 and Taj 2-33. The defeat sent AOT Youngsters rolling out of the tournament.
In the last match Al-Safree beat AMI Juffali by 75 runs to secure a berth in the last eight. Al-Safree, batting first, scored 174. Aftab Malik scored 41, Saeed 40, Zahid 24 and Muneeb 20. Zafar took 3-34 runs.
AMI Juffali, in reply, could score only 99 as Nadeem hit 22 and skipper Najam Uzbak remained unbeaten on 20. Waseeq Sherwani bagged 4-15 and Shakeel 2-16.
